Jamais dans nos rves les plus fous naurions nous imagin un rsultat aussi professionel. Jamais pendant ces deux annes de prparation naurions nous imagin avoir une si grande audience. Nous vous remercions tous pour vos retours positifs et vos ides cratives. Nous remercions chacun dentre vous de stre impliqu dans la couverture mdiatique de ce 22me Jamboree Scout Mondial. Tous ensembles, nous avons produit ce que jappellerai le premier vnement mondial qui nait jamais eu lieu Rinkaby, sur Internet et sur les mdias sociaux en mme temps. Nous avons produit le premier Jamboree des mdias sociaux ! Les statistiques web sont incroyables. Et mme si nous sommes lge des mdias digitaux, tout reste encore tourn vers les gens. Des gens qui ont rendu le Jamboree possible. Des gens qui aiment tre scout. Et des gens qui ont essay de vous rapprocher de toutes les diffrentes parties du Jamboree. Jaimerais remercier nos talentueux EIS et les membres de lquipe de planification. Vous tes formidables et vous avez effectu un travail incroyable. A melting pot of colours

Everything must come to an end, and why not do it with a bang? That was just what happened at the Closing Ceremony of the 22nd World Scout Jamboree.

Be it the morning show on 94.5, be it Simply Silly on Jam N, Arne in Hej Jam!, and even Liveblogging from the Jamboree Arena (all illustrated with fantastic photos), the incredible work of a great camp media team comes to an end. Never in our wildest dreams would we have expected such a professional outcome. Never in more than two years of planning would we have expected our audience to be so big. We thank you for all your positive feedback and creative story ideas. We thank everyone for being involved in the 22nd World Scout Jamboree camp media coverage. All together we have produced, what I would call the first ever world event that was happening in real life in Rinkaby and on the Internet and social media at the same time. We produced the first Social Media Jamboree ever! The statistics on the web are amazing. And even though we are in the digital media age, it is still all about people! People make the Jamboree happen. People enjoy being Scouts. And people have tried to bring you closer to all different parts of the Jamboree. I would like to thank all our talented IST and planning team members. You are great and did an amazing job! I would also like to thank our Communication Department and Media & Press Team: Marie-Louise Lvgren, Thomas Frostberg, Niclas Ihrn, Elisabet Mnsson, Aija Johansson, Aneka Novotn, Ulf Folkesson, Joel Fridfjell, Ole Formare, Lina Rudin and Daniel Svensson Kreda who set up a fantastic framework for our work. Without all their support, we couldnt have produced Jamboree media. The same applies to our incredible translation team, especially Hannah and Cilla. They played a vital role in giving an international touch to Jamboree Media! Last but certainly not least, I would like to thank our camp media editors and their teams. They have coordinated all the content and motivated our reporters to produce interesting, diverse, and funny stories. e all expected the closing ceremony to be something extraordinary. After a fantastic Jamboree with superb shows throughout, it just had to be! On the night of the 6th August the grand finale began, with the theme Solidarity and plenty of rumours about what was to come. Situated at an all new stage with a view from every side, the conditions were set for a fantastic show. Sofi Hellborg and the Swedish comedian Johan Wester were introduced as our hosts, and dressed in the Swedish contingent jackets our very own special guests, His Majesty the King and Her Majesty the Queen of Sweden, were sat in the first row. The crowd was massive, cheers were heard all around and there was an amazing atmosphere! Suddenly, the rain began to fall. Did the show stop? Definitely not! With singers like Daniel Lemma, Sanna Nielsen and Kate Ryan, as well as a great dance show and video shorts from Jam N, the rain didnt stop a night packed with entertainment. Our surprise last number was no less than eighties rockers Europe! The rain also didnt stop the King from performing his classic Rocket or the messengers of Peace from telling their story. The WOSM-flag was handed over to Japan and everyone united in the Spirit of Wa. We cant wait for 2015! Just before it all ended, the sky was lit up by colourful fireworks that could be seen from miles away. A truly magical night, summing up the twelve days, and it will be a great story to tell to our friends who werent there.

Nous nous rjouissions tous dassister la crmonie de clture. Aprs un super Jamboree avec des spectacles extraordinaires, cela devait continuer dans cette mme voie! Le soir du 6 aot, le spectacle final a t lanc sous le thme de la solidarit. Une toute nouvelle scne, avec une vue panoramique 360, promettait le meilleur. Avec des chanteurs tels que Daniel Lemma, Sanna Nielsen et Kate Ryan, ainsi que des danses, et des films de Jam N, mme la pluie ne pouvait pas refroidir lambiance. Une dernire surprise fut le groupe Europe, et bien sr Sa Majest le Roi de Sude qui a prsent sa fameuse fuse du Jamboree. Une nuit formidable!

Ready to leave?
Its the morning after the closing ceremony and the camp is coming to an end. Scouts from all corners of the world are getting ready to part ways and leave the camp site on buses.

alking around the camp, it has already started to look empty. Two thirds of the camp sites are already vacated, and only the light green spots in the grass are still there, marking where the tents have been. The rain is still coming down lightly and people are seeking shelter under the white tarps some with all their luggage piled up in the middle underneath. In the first hours after the closing ceremony more than 18,000 participants left the camp. It has been a busy night by the buses and even now there is still a lot of activity, but its not hectic. The Scouts from Malawi are ready to board as soon as their bus arrives. Of course it has been a good camp. We have made many new friends from Mexico, Belgium, Italy, Norway, Canada, Venezuela, Sri Lanka and more, who we needed to say goodbye to. Hopefully we will meet again we believe we will, they said. They are going to stay in Copenhagen for two days before heading for the long trip home. A trip of 18 hours by plane. Around the camp site a few camps still stand out as being far from dismantled. In one of them I met some scouts from Austria sitting under their pole built dining table. They are not leaving until late in the afternoon, and they tell Hej Jam! It has been a very interesting camp, and we have had a lot of fun. They are now getting ready for three days of home hospitality, and when asked what they are most looking forward to, they said, A hot shower or a warm bath, at least right now. The Taiwanese Scouts were just getting ready to leave their camp site and head for home hospitality in Norway. We have no idea what it will be like, but we are really looking forward to it in any case, they told us. After that we will be travelling around Norway, Finland, Iceland and Denmark. We still have more than two weeks here before going home, they continued. Scouts from all over the world are now leaving for trips, short or long some are leaving for home and some for new adventures. The camp slowly empties itself hour by hour, and in less than a day it will be just a field again.

Cest le matin aprs la crmonie de clture et le camp touche sa fin. En se promenant sur le site, on se rend compte quel point le camp se vide. Dans les premires heures aprs la crmonie de clture, plus de 18 000 participants ont dj quitt le camp. Les scouts du Malawi sont prts pour le dpart au moment o leur bus arrive. Ils prolongent leur voyage de deux jours Copenhague, avant de prendre un vol de 18 heures. Les scouts taiwanais resteront quelques jours en Norvge. Nous navons aucune ide de ce qui va nous attendre, mais nous avons hte dy tre, racontent-ils. Peu peu, les scouts sen vont, et dans moins dune journe ce sera redevenu un simple champ.

At 80 locations all around southern Sweden there have been Camp in Camp sites, where participants from the Jamboree have ventured out to explore a traditional Swedish Camp.

Over the past few days, many participants at the World Scout Jamboree have taken part in Camp In Camp, a module allowing the young people to experience a traditional Swedish camp together with different patrols from all over the world in order to meet with other Swedish Scouts.

ej Jam! went to the Knislinge camp to talk to the Scouts about their experiences. 160 Scouts from seven different scout groups live in the camp, and every day of the Camp in Camp period three buses with up to 150 participants arrived. The camp is located on a field, with low trees around the site, just by the edge of a lake. Arriving at the camp you are greeted by the beautiful view over the field and the lake just beside it. On the field many small camp sites are located, each with their cleverly engineered pioneered tables and places for cooking over an open fire. The visiting Scouts tried two different activities: Canoeing on the lake and making handicrafts using reindeer antlers and wool as the materials. Its the first time Ive used antlers as a material, we usually only use wood when making handicrafts. But this is really

cool, Alex Engeldinger from Luxembourg tells while making a woggle for his scarf. By the lake one of the instructors, Martin Johansson, helps the visiting Scouts into the canoe. This is the front, and this is the back, he explains to them. Its the first time for many of the Scouts. They learn really fast. Yesterday we had a patrol of girls from India, who had never tried water activities before. They were very good, and it was so nice to see their happy faces while canoeing around, he tells us. The Scouts from Kristianstad living in the camp have had visitors from many different countries. It has been a lot of work, but also very cool and a lot of fun, they tell us. They have been very talkative, and we have learned a lot about other cultures. Some of the best memories have been the camp fires, where we have learned a lot of new things, they continued.

isiting Sknginsboda camp, participants met their host Kke, who introduced them to the camp consisting of many activities hosted by his team, which also included some Swedish Scouts. They began by playing some traditional Swedish games such as Plockepinn and followed by an Incident Hike. The hike was met with challenges to be played against the other patrols at the camp. These included keeping water in a bucket with holes in through a 50m rope course, seeing how many members of the patrol can get through a zip line course in 5 minutes and catapulting water bottle enemies. Along the way the hike was also disturbed by trolls from the Swedish forest! After cooking on an open fire in a cleverly pioneered kitchen area, and even more patrol games, the evening came to an end with a multi-cultural campfire. The Swedish hosts treated the participants to gingerbread biscuits and traded numerous campfire songs until the campfire burned down to ashes. The following morning after breakfast, the young people tried their hand at wood turning. This was thoroughly enjoyed and the participants created woggles, boats, cups and other such items before waving goodbye to their hosts and heading back to the Jamboree site. Gemma Smalley, Patrol Leader of Dovedale patrol from Derbyshire, UK, commented on the Camp In Camp experience by saying: My patrol has really enjoyed this experience. It has been truly special and unlike anything we have done back home. It was nice to experience the true way Swedish people would camp and also to have a break from the large site. The Camp In Camp has been the best part of the Jamboree so far!

Des visiteurs du monde entier

Hej Jam! sest rendu sur le Camp dans le Camp de Knislinge, afin de recueillir des tmoignages de participants. Les scouts invits ont pu essayer deux activits : cano sur le lac et fabrication dobjets en bois de rennes et en laine. Prs du lac, cest Martin Johansson, instructeur, qui aide les scouts monter dans les canos. Voici lavant du cano, et ce ct cest larrire explique-t-il. Pour beaucoup, cest la premire fois quils montent dans un cano. Ils apprennent trs vite et samusent beaucoup. Les scouts de Kristianstad, qui vivent sur le camp, ont reu des visiteurs de nombreux pays. Selon eux, Ctait beaucoup de travail, mais un travail trs sympa et amusant !

Camper Sknginsboda
Ces derniers jours, bon nombre de participants du Jamboree sont partis au Camp dans le Camp. Ce module permet aux jeunes de vivre un camp sudois traditionnel, de rencontrer dautres patrouilles et dapprendre connatre des scouts sudois. Lors de leur visite au camp de Sknginsboda, les participants ont rencontr leur hte, Kke, qui leur a prsent le camp. De nombreuses activits sont prvues et animes par son quipe compose en partie de scouts sudois. Ils ont commenc par jouer des jeux sudois traditionnels, particip une randonne incidents (la randonn tait interrompue par des trolls de la fort sudoise !) et sont passs matres dans la matrise de la cuisine sudoise. La soire sest termine autour dun feu et dune veille multiculturelle. Les htes ont offert des biscuits au pain dpice et ont chant toutes sortes de chants de veille jusqu ce que le feu steigne. Pour Gemma Smalley, chef de la patrouille de Dovedale qui vient du Derbyshire, le Camp dans le Camp a t la meilleure exprience du Jamboree (jusqu prsent) !

Prime Ministers visit the World Scout Jamboree

During the last day of the World Scout Jamboree the camp was visited by no less than three heads of government; the Swedish, Danish and Finnish Prime Ministers took a tour of the camp, talked to participants and talked about how the Jamboree is a shining example in times of need.

you dont know anything. I think being a Scout is a great education in leadership, Lkke Rasmussen continued. I started when I was seven and pretty soon I was a patrol leader. That is actually giving a huge responsibility to a youngster. Finnish Prime Minister Jyrki Katainen also talked about using his Scouting experiences during his political work. He saw more than personal gain for the young people engaged in Scouting. We came here to encourage young people to take an active part in society. What they do here is good for themselves, but also good for society. Young people show responsibility for themselves and for others. All three Ministers touched upon the theme of social responsibility. Whats happening here is important, as it tells us something about how the world is tied together, said Fredrik Reinfeldt. This is always important, but it is even more important when what happened in Norway marks and saddens us, that we look towards what we ought to do, towards the future. The visit lasted around two hours before the three Prime Ministers left. Going before the rain started surely improved the impression, but judging from the remarks made by all three it seems that regardless of weather the ministers were taken by storm by the participants and the organization.

We are happy to visit the World Scout Jamboree, said Swedish prime minister Fredrik Reinfeldt, and to hear the young people tell us about how they learn from different cultures and make friendships that may last a lifetime. The three Prime Ministers first had a Fika with Swedish and Finnish scouts, chatting about the camp and the activities. Lars Lkke Rasmussen of Denmark asked about the costs for participating and was told how Operation One World gives help to Scouts who otherwise would not have been able to attend. He was also informed by the participants about increasing cooperation between the Scout associations in Sweden. After the Fika, the Ministers visited Danish and Norwegian Scouts. After questions about the general Jamboree experience, the Ministers climbed up the tower to get a better view of the area. After the tour, Lars Lkke Rasmussen said that Scouting is among the finest thing you can do. It combines knowing things yourself with cooperation. You can be a great map reader, or know lots of knots, but if you cant cooperate in your patrol, then

Les Premiers Ministres de la Sude, du Danemark, de la Finlande et de la Norvge ont visit le Jamboree vendredi dernier. Nous sommes venus ici pour encourager les jeunes tre actifs dans la socit a dit Jyrki Katainen de Finlande. Lars Lkke Rasmussen du Danemark a voqu comment le scoutisme apprend aux jeunes la coopration. Il ajoute: le scoutisme est une des meilleures choses que tu puisses faire. Les Ministres avaient suivi une visite guide sur le site du Jamboree en tant acompagns entre autre par la cheffe de camp Marie Reinicke, et ils ont parl des participants de la Sude, de la Norvge, de la Finlande et du Danemark. Une courte confrence de presse a termin la visite.

A new cap for an old friend

In the interview published in Hej Jam! no. 1, we wrote about Arne and Gunnel, the Jamborees closest neighbours. Arne told Hej Jam! how he still uses the cap he was given ten years ago, when the 1st Swedish National Jamboree was held at the same field as the World Scout Jamboree of today. Hej Jam! decided it was time for a new look and when Arne went by on one of his regular biking tours, we took the opportunity of presenting him with a new cap. What luck its not raining, so I can wear it immediately, said Arne, joking about his wife possibly not recognizing him in his new cap. Waving happily, Arne with the bike set off into the crowd again, cap firmly in place. The look is updated, but the curiosity over the Jamboree continues.

Nous interviewons Anne, Lizi, Frutz, Sally et Marie, des EIS luxembourgeoises venues se dtendre avant le rangement. Leau est froide mais cest acceptable, par contre la mer nest pas assez profonde commentent-elles. En effet, Ins, une autre surveillante, nous indique que la profondeur maximale est de 1m50. Les EIS prsents sur la plage, dont nous, valeureux reporters de Hej Jam !, sont unanimes: pouvoir prendre un moment de dtente la plage est quand mme fort apprciable!

e Jamboree a beau tre situ au nord de lEurope, il est tout de mme possible de profiter des joies de la mer. Et mme si, pour dobscures raisons, vous ne voulez pas vous baigner, le voyage vaut malgr tout le dtour. En effet, vous pourrez y voir des vaches faire trempette! Plus srieusement, quen est-il de cette plage? Janosch, surveillant suisse, nous explique quelle est divise en six sections, chacune sous la responsabilit dun surveillant. Notre travail consiste nous assurer que les gens ne dpassent pas les boues, quils ne se noient pas, mais aussi de veiller au comportement des scouts, notamment en ce qui concerne la prvention de la maltraitance, explique-t-il. Il prcise quil ny a pas eu daccident majeur, malgr une journe record avec plus de 5 000 baigneurs. Les activits disposition sont varies. Il y a un filet de volley

Hej Jam! relaxes at the beach

There is an activity which isnt actually on the campsite: the beach. Hej Jam! visited it. There you can borrow sport accessories, and use one of the two volleyball pitches. According to girls from Luxembourg, the water is cold but ok. The sea is not so deep. Ins, an IST lifeguard, explains us that the deepest point is one metre and fifty. ISTs and the Hej Jam! reporters, who are actually working here, are unanimous: having fun at the beach is great!

Prepared for a Challnege

Travelling to the World Scout Jamboree can be a challenge for anyone, but for some the challenge is greater. Hej Jam! talked to the six Scouts from The Redemptorist School for Blind Children in Pattaya, Thailand. Sitting in a circle, Nook, Touch, Got, Keem, Jang and Oob answer questions about the Jamboree. The boys say they are happy to be on the Jamboree, where everyone is friendly. When walking around the campsite, Scouts often help them finding toilets or the activities. At the Jamboree, the Scouts have participated in Earth and GDV, swapping badges and camp life. They have also raised money for blind scouts by selling crafts and Thai massage. Three of the boys are completely blind, the other can see a very little says Mr Rujivanitchkal, their leader. We have 32 pupils at the school, where they learn Braille, how to walk with the stick, Thai and English, among other things.

The swedish word Hej d

If hej is the most common greeting in Swedish, then hej d is the most common of the opposite. Whenever you are leaving someone, even if its just for half an hour to visit a neighbour, or when separating from your new found friends from all over the world, you say 'hej d'. It can be combined with the waving of hands, a hug, a handshake or a scout greeting, it doesnt really matter. The most important thing is to remember is that a hej d doesnt need to be forever! Even if the 22nd World Scout Jamboree has come to its end, the 'hej d' we're saying to you is just the beginning of many new Scouting experiences. Yours in Scouting, Hej d! And see you!

Si Hej est le mot le plus courant pour dire bonjour en sudois, Hej D est le plus utilis pour dire le contraire. Ds que vous quittez quelqu'un, que ce soit votre voisin qui vous avez rendu visite pendant une demie-heure ou pour dire au revoir un ami qui vit de l'autre ct de la plante, vous pouvez dire Hej D. Il peut tre combin une poigne ou un signe de la main, une accolade ou un salut scout, peut importe. Mais rappelez-vous quon ne dit jamais au revoir pour toujours. While best thing in the world is participating at a Jamboree, the second best thing is visiting a Jamboree.

ot only are there 40,061 Scouts camping here on the site, but each day about 3,000 more people join us. Some of these people are visiting a relative or participant; others are just here to share the Jamboree experience. Here to help the day visitors to make the most of their visit are the Jamboree tour guides. Hej Jam! joined a group of visitors on one of the tours around the centre of the site. We learned that the majority of visitors come from Scandinavian countries, Germany and the UK. However, some come from much further afield. From experience over the last week, we all know just how big the site is; so the tour guides guide you around the centre, taking in the sights of Four-Seasons square, the food houses and Time Avenue. Elna, a Swedish visitor commented that I have never been to a Jamboree before, even though I have been a Scout all my life. If I was to attend a Jamboree, I would definitely make some new friends and enjoy the experience. Some visitors brought along their children to visit the site as they were too young to attend as participants and some came to visit friends and to show them the Jamboree experience. This is our first time at a Jamboree; we are very excited. We love the Scouting atmosphere and the site is very large and open, said Luka and Vesna from Slovenia. Everyone is free to join in, to meet other members of the Scouting family and to share the Jamboree spirit. This is what the Jamboree is all about!

lentre du Jamboree, ce sont entre quatre et douze bus qui assurent la navette entre le campement et la zone dnregistrement des visiteurs. Nous y rencontrons Jennifer, Matilda, 10 ans toutes les deux, et Petronella, 6 ans, qui sont l avec leur maman. Toutes les trois sont scoutes en Sude. Nous nous attendons voir beaucoup de scouts et diffrentes nationalits qui samusent ensemble nous disent-elles. Nous y rencontrons aussi un couple de hus, une ville proche du site du Jamboree. Pourquoi sont-ils ici ? Parce que a se passe ct de chez nous ! , expliquent-ils en riant. Ils nont jamais t scouts, mais voulaient voir a une fois dans leur vie. Plus loin, nous discutons avec Rasmus et Emil, deux scouts danois. Nous avons organis un camp dans le seul but de venir visiter le Jamboree , mexplique leur chef. Il y a aussi un anglais qui vient pour changer des insignes. Certains viennent de plus loin, comme cette famille amricaine de lIndiana dont les 3 enfants sont scouts. Ils viennent visiter le Jamboree pendant leurs vacances. Ou cette troupe de Japonais venus voir leur groupe. Nous venons aussi nous inspirer pour le prochain Jamboree qui aura lieu au Japon explique Chesaco et Ayum. Nous sommes surtout l pour voir des scouts du monde entier profiter du Jamboree concluent-elles. Et que font ces visiteurs ? la rception on nous explique quils sont libres de visiter les centres des villages et dessayer la plupart des activits mais quils ont aussi la possibilit de faire une visite guide. Nous avons suivi le guide pour une visite de 40 minutes. Le groupe de 30 personnes est accompagn par Bill du Texas. Les guides viennent de toutes les dlgations. Le Jamboree est quelque chose dinternational nous explique Simon, coordinateur des visites guides. Bill commence par demander qui est, ou a t, scout. Quelques mains se lvent. Il continue avec une brve histoire du scoutisme et une explication sur le concept dun Jamboree. Nous nous dplacons du ct du Village Mondial du Dveloppement, puis vers le centre mdia. Bill parle du nombre de volontaires et du nombre dheures de travail quil a fallu pour mettre en place ce camp. Les visiteurs sont impressionns. Aprs une brve explication sur le centre Foi et Croyances, notre guide fait remarquer aux visiteurs le nombre de drapeaux diffrents quils peuvent voir. Sensuivent des explications sur lopration One World, sur les activits pour les participants, et Bill fait ses recommandations quand nous passons par lalle des restaurants. Jajoute des informations que je connais et qui ne sont pas dans le guide officiel, cela permet de personnaliser un peu plus la visite , dit-il. Nous finissons lexposition sudoise, Cest quand mme le pays qui accueille le Jamboree , justifie Bill.

Simply Swapping
A popular phenomenon at the Jamboree is swapping. Exchanging badges, jackets and scarfs from different countries. Participants, leaders and IST alike are all trying their best to obtain the rare badges that so many people pine for.

couts from countries all over the world are defying the smouldering sun by sitting outside and trying to swap badges. Andrew Bascom and Lucas Mahi from USA are two of many participants sitting at a swapping area. We have done some trading in our sub camp but we came here to try to get badges that are harder to find, Andrew said. Popular badges include those from the Irish and the Mexican contingents. It is fun to see what the badges from the different contingents look like, Lucas adds. There are many participants circling around the different tables where the swappers have their badges laid out. Most of them are keeping an eye out for the rare badges. However, it is also a good place to meet new people and to try to speak other languages. I want to try to collect badges from as many different countries as possible, said Riho Horie from Japan. The Scouts that visit her table are mostly interested in getting the Japanese contingent badge. When I get home I am going to make a scrapbook with all my new badges, she continues. The huge interest for swapping makes it difficult to get a table at the swapping area. Many Scouts have put out the items they want to swap on the ground. However, Zjef Eilers, Victor Devalckeneer and Ward Bleus from Belgium have just succeeded in finding a table. I want to collect as many flag badges as possible, said Zejf. Victor and Ward added All the Scouts in our patrol are interested in getting badges from Jamaica and they are hard to find.

Simply married x 2
A Swedish proverb says that if it rains on the bride on her weeding day, the marriage will be happy. If this is true, Helena Lindh and Jonas Bofjll are in luck. The couple were wed in a short ceremony up in the Jamboree Tower on Friday, the 29th July.
ressed in the Swedish Scout uniform and with flowers in her hair, the bride welcomed the guests on the platform. We are here today because ten years ago, I caught Jonas eye queuing for food at Scout 2001 (1st Swedish National Jamboree, held here at Rinkaby). The President of the Swedish Guide and Scout Council Helene Gestrin held the short ceremony, reminding the couple to let the love and respect that brought them together guide them through their life. To get married at the Jamboree felt very personal, said the groom after the ceremony, and added that there will be another celebration after the camp, for the friends who could not attend today. The wedding was attended by over thirty guests, many of them from the Scout troop both bride and groom belong to. Everybody loves them, they rule! says a very happy Matilda Wennberg. Theyre sooo cute adds Ebba Raab, who prides herself at having had both Helena and Jonas as her scout leaders.

f all the sights and sounds of a Jamboree, a wedding is not one of the things that you would expect to find. Would you like to share your special day with 39,000 other people? This couple did. The wedding ceremony took place in a beautiful and tranquil spot in the woods, with a reception held at the Austrian food house. This is where Hey Jam! caught up with the bride. Maria told us we chose to get married at the Jamboree as we wanted a simple ceremony, as we have friends all over the world. Hey Jam! learnt that Maria and Giernot met while he was an educator with The Red Cross and that neither of them were nervous, just that they were very excited as all their friends were able to join them. Both Maria and Giernot are Scouts. They expressed that today was better than we expected, as we had beautiful weather. Some friends have traveled from Austria especially to be here. Hey Jam! wishes the couple a long and happy life together.

Lchange de badges, de vestes et de foulards de pays diffrents est un phnomne trs populaire au Jamboree. Les participants, chefs et EIS font tout ce quils peuvent pour obtenir les badges les plus recherchs. Jessaie de collectionner des badges du plus grand nombre de pays possible nous dit Riho Horie, une scoute japonaise. Les scouts qui visitent sa table sont surtout intresss par le badge du contingent japonais. Lorsque je reviendrai la maison, je vais faire un album de tous mes nouveaux badges. nous ditelle.

Simplement maris
Le mariage a t clbr dans un bel endroit tranquille dans les bois. Aprs la petite crmonie, la rception sest tenue au bistrot autrichien. Hey Jam! a appris que Maria et Giernot se sont recontrs alors que Giernot tait ducateur avec la CroixRouge et quaucun des deux maris ntaient nerveux avant la crmonie. Daprs eux : la journe sest mieux droule que nous le pensions car le temps tait magnifique. Quelques amis sont venus spcialement dAutriche. Hey Jam! souhaite une longue et heureuse vie au couple.

eut-tre avez-vous entendu du violon sur lAvenue du Temps un de ces soirs. Cest Miska, un Sudois de 15 ans. Je joue partout dans la nature, pour moi . Cest donc naturellement quil sest mis jouer sur le site du Jamboree. Je joue pour les gens et eux me donne des insignes, cest du symphonic swapping explique celui qui joue du violon depuis 7 ans. A-t-il du plaisir faire cela? Bien sr! , rpond-il tout sourire. Et, voir tous les insignes, mots, cartes de visites ou autocollants qui remplissent sa bote, le public semble aussi apprcier.

Savais-tu quil y avait un projet dvaluation durant tout le Jamboree? Peut-tre faisais-tu mme partie de ce projet? Si tu ne las pas t, alors lis bien ceci afin den savoir plus. Une quipe de 5 membres de lquipe dorganisation et 35 EIS ont travaill durant tout le camp, distribuant des questionnaires aux participants et aux visiteurs. Chaque jour, une nouvelle question leur a t pose, ainsi que leur opinion gnrale concernant le Jamboree. Sur une chelle allant de -10 +10, des valeurs moyennes entre 7,1 et 7,9 ont t atteintes durant tout le camp, ce qui est trs positif! Tout le monde ayant rpondu au questionnaire a reu un badge. Les opinions ainsi rcoltes nont pas seulement t utiles lors du Jamboree, mais le seront aussi pour lvaluation post jamboree. Les rsultats taient effectivement intressants! Par exemple, savais-tu que: 66% ont t marqu par les thmes Runions, Solidarit et Nature 75% taient daccord que les repas taient bon 87% des visiteurs sont davis que le scoutisme mriterait le Prix Nobel de la Paix 88% se sont sentis en scurit sur le Jamboree 92% se sont sentis bienvenue lorsquils sont arrivs au Jamboree et 94% taient satisfaits ou trs satisfaits de la crmonie douverture.

Tel pre, tel fils

Jesse Grylls, sept ans, suit les pas de son pre Bear Grylls, clbre aventurier animateur de Man vs. Wild et responsable des scouts britanniques. Bear Grylls rapporte que son fils a russi sortir de leau une petite fille tombe dans une rivire et la ramener en scurit sur la berge. Le groupe denfants tait sur un petit lot au milieu dune rivire lorsquelle elle est tombe, dit Bear Grylls. Je ntais pas l, vous savez, lhistoire devient de plus en plus incroyable chaque fois quil me la raconte, mais il la vraiment sauve. Il tait fier comme un coq davoir russi la sortir !

Like Father Like Son

The seven year old son of UK Chief Scout Bear Grylls is following in his famous fathers footsteps after rescuing a little girl from a river after she fell in. Grylls reported that his son Jesse managed to drag the girl out of the water to safety. They [the children] were in a little base in a stream and she fell in, Grylls said. And I wasnt there, you know, and the story grows and grows every time he tells me but he did rescue her and he was proud as punch to have dragged her out.

crew of five Planning Team members and 35 ISTs have worked hard during the camp, handing out questionnaires to both participants and visitors. A new question was asked every day, as well as an inquiry for an over all opinion of the Jamboree. On a scale from -10 to + 10, the average value of results were from 7.1 to 7.9 over the entire camp, which is very positive! Everyone answering the questionnaire got a badge, and the opinions werent just useful during the Jamboree but also afterwards for the official evaluation. The results of the inquires were quite interesting! For example did you know that: 66% felt that they had noticed the themes of Meetings, Solidarity and Nature 75% agreed that the food was good. 87% of the visitors thought that Scouting deserves the Nobel Peace Prize 88% thought that the Jamboree felt safe 92% felt welcomed when they arrived at the Jamboree, and 94% were satisfied or very satisfied with the Opening Ceremony. Well, now you know! The numbers are great to see, and its a very satisfying outcome for the Jamboree. Good work, Evaluation Team!

Martian Water Source

A newly released joint US-Swiss study has found striking new images from the mountains of Mars with evidence of flowing, liquid water, an essential ingredient for life. The Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter provided images which show many long, dark tendrils a few meters wide between rocky outcrops, flowing hundreds of meters down slopes towards the plains below. They appear on hillsides warmed by the summer sun, flow around obstacles and sometimes split or merge, but when winter returns, the tendrils fade away BBC news reported.

Des chercheurs des tats-Unis et de Suisse ont rcemment dcouvert des images frappantes de montagnes de Mars confirmant la prsence deau liquide, un ingrdient essentiel la vie. Le satellite de reconaissance de Mars a fourni des images qui montrent plusieurs longues rivires fonces de plusieurs mtres de large qui cascadent dune centaine de mtres entre des affleurements rocheux vers les plaines en aval. Elles apparaissent sur les collines, rchauffes par le soleil, coulent autour des obstacles et se sparent ou fusionnent parfois, mais lorsque lhiver revient, les rivires disparaissent. a rapport BBC news.

Mandela Museum to Open

Le muse Mandela est ouvert

Un muse la mmoire de Nelson Mandela et de sa lutte contre lapartheid sera inaugur par des responsables sud-africains lendroit o il a t arrt il y a 49 ans. Vendredi, Mandla Mandela demandait tous les habitants du pays, au nom de son grand-pre, de ne pas seulement commmorer lancien prsident mais aussi tous ceux qui ont pris part la lutte contre lapartheid. 1,2 million de dollars seront verss par le gouvernement provincial pour crer le muse et le monument commmoratif. Cela devrait tre source demplois dans une zone principalement rurale.

A dedicated museum honoring Nelson Mandelas struggle against apartheid will be commissioned by South African officials on the site where he was arrested 49 years ago. Speaking on Friday on behalf of his grandfather, Mandla Mandela urged South Africans to remember everyone who was active in the struggle against apartheid, not just him. $1.2 million of funding for the museum and memorial will be put up by the provincial government, which is expected to create jobs in the largely rural area.
