ISO 42001 structure • Clause 1: Scope o This clause specifies the purpose and applicability of the standard. It states that ISO 42001 provides requirements for establishing, implementing, maintaining, and continually improving an Artificial Intelligence Management System (AIMS) • Clause 2: Normative references o This clause lists other standards that are referenced in ISO 42001. • Clause 3: Terms and definitions o This clause defines key terms used in the standard. • Clause 4: Context of the organization o This clause requires organizations to understand their internal and external context, as well as the needs and expectations of interested parties, relevant to AI. • Clause 5: Leadership o This clause requires management to demonstrate leadership and commitment to the AIMS, including establishing an AI policy and assigning roles and responsibilities. • Clause 6: Planning o This clause requires organizations to develop a plan for the AIMS, including objectives, risks and opportunities, and resources. • Clause 7: Support o This clause requires organizations to provide the resources, competence, awareness, and communication necessary to support the AIMS. • Clause 8: Operation o This clause requires organizations to implement the AIMS, including developing, acquiring, and using AI systems, and monitoring performance. • Clause 9: Performance evaluation o This clause requires organizations to monitor, measure, analyze, and evaluate the performance of the AIMS. • Clause 10: Improvement o This clause requires organizations to take actions to improve the AIMS, based on the results of the performance evaluation. • Annex A (informative): Control objectives and controls o This annex provides a list of control objectives and controls that can be used to meet the requirements of the standard.
