bookworms’ club member here to talk about a story by Caroline Beecham. Caroline is the author of four historical novels like Maggie’s Kitchen, Eleanor’s secret, Finding Eadie, and When We Meet Again. This afternoon I will discuss her book When We Meet Again.
When We Meet Again is an intensely moving story
of love and mystery that is set in the London publishing industry during World War II. It tells the tale of a mother who is looking for her kidnapped child and highlights the unbreakable bonds that exist between families, lovers, and readers during this time.
This book has a lot of good reviews from well-known
publishing companies like the New York Times, who said that this book’s research, compassion, and sensitivity poured into the novel are admirable and make for a deeply affecting reading experience.
I would recommend this book especially if you are
into books that are set in the past or the 1900s. What I liked about this book is that the author did proper research about what is happening in the 1900s publishing industry while World War II is occurring, which made me feel like I am part of the story. The characters of this book are well-written and well-described, even though I have a few criticisms about the main characters, this book is still good. Just like what I said earlier, this book is well- researched which means that you will learn a lot about the different problems that people faced in the 19th century. This novel has it all, a captivating story, a great cast of the protagonist, history, suspense, mystery, and romance.
Before I end my book critique let me leave a short
sentence from the book. “Books might not always be a comfort, but they remind you of what it is to be human and to love.” Once again this is Alyssa Talavera, a bookworms’ club member. Thank you for listening!
