A. POSITIONNEMENT DU PATIENT
Le patient doit etre place de preference assis,

geometriques meilleures.
Le temps de pose doit etre aug mente d'environ
4 fois (voir tableau) (pages 12 et 13).

B. POSITIONING OF THE GENERATOR WITH
SHORT CENTERING TUBE
The photo should show a minimum of tooth
distorsion. This condition is fulfilled when the
radiation beam passing through the base of
the roots is directed perpendicular to the angle
bisector formed by the plane of the teeth and
of the film (Fig. 4 page 5).
For a correctly positioned patient. the genera-
tor angles are given on the setting time table
(pages 12 and 13).
C. POSITIONING OF THE GENERATOR
WITH THE LOCALIZER CYLINDER
(LONG CONE)
By increasing the focus-tooth distance, the
localizer cylinder increases also the tooth-film
distance proportionally without deteriorating
the fineness of the photo.
It then becomes possible, to decrease tooth
distorsion, to place the plane of the film paral-
lel to that of the teeth (Fig. 5 page 5).
The image obtained under these conditions
shows lesser enlargement and better geome-
tric qualities.
The setting time should be increased by about
4 times (see table) (pages 12 and 13).

temps d'exposition d'apres le tableau de
pose (pages 1 2 et 13).
Pour declencher !'exposition, appuyer sur
le bouton-poussoir raccorde aIa prise (9)

Place the film face without label against the
area to be X-rayed, one film edge even with
the occlusal plane and ask the patient to keep
it in place with the thumb, the other fingers
being placed outside of the radiation range (a).
With the standard cone, orient the generator
so that the beam is perpendicular to the bisec-
tor of the tooth-film angle (see the recommen-
ded angles on the setting time table) (pages 12
and 13).
With the long-cone localizer tube, orient the
generator so that the beam is perpendicular to
the film. In that case, a film holder is
recommended.
USE OF THE TIMING SYSTEM
Operating instructions.
Trigger the switch (8). The green signal lamp (6)
lights up.
Set the time scale selector on the black dot
or on the red dot according to the film type
used.
Example
UL TRASPEED KODAK film : red dot
EKTASPEED KODAK film : black dot
Using the knob (4), select the exposure
time in accordance with the time setting
table (pages 12 and 13).
To start the exposure, press pushbutton
connected to the plug (9), maintain the
pressor during the whole exposure dura-
tion. The red signal lamp lights up (5).
The triggering cord enables you to stay
about 3 meters away from the patient, to
be sheltered from the secondary radiation
emitted by the patient.
Do not forget to turn the system off after
exposure, pressing pushbutton (8).
NEGATIVAUFNAHMEN
Die Seite ohne Etikett des Films wird gegen
die zu ri:intgende Stelle gelegt und zwar eine

wird, diesen mit dem Daumen zu halten, hier-
bei liegen die anderen Finger ausserhalb der
Strahlung (a).
Mit dem Standartkegel wird der Generator so
orientiert, dass das Strahlenbundel senkrecht
zur Winkelhalbierenden des Winkels Zahn-Film
liegt (Siehe auf der Tabelle der Expositionszeit
die ernpfohlenen Winkel).
Mit der Lokalisatorri:ihre, Ianger Kegel, wird
der Generator so orientiert, dass das Strahlen-
bundel senkrecht zum Film liegt. In diesern
Faile wird ein Filmtiager empfohlen.
ANWENDUNG DES ELEKTRONISCHEN
MINUTENWERKES
Den Schalter (8) eindrucker, die grune Signal-
lampe (6) leuchtet auf.
Stellen Sie den Wahlschalter (1) auf den
schwarzen oder. roten Punkt, dies hangt
jeweils von den angewandten Filmen ab.
(Beisp1el Ultraschneller Kodakfilm: roter
Punkt; EKTASPEED-KODAK Film: schwar-
zer Punkt).
Mit Hilfe des Regulierknopfes (4) wird die
Expositionszeit nach der. Tabelle (Seiten 12
+ 13) gewahlt.
Zur Ausli:isung der Exposition wird der
Druckknopf, welcher an die Dose (9)
angeschlossen ist, eingedruckt. wobei die-
ser wahrend der gesarnten Dauer der Exposi-
tion eingedruckt gehalten wird.
Die Ausli:iseschnur gibt Ihnen die Mi:iglich-
keit, sich ca. 3 Meter vom Patienten zu
entfernen, urn vor der hierbei ausgestrahl-
ten Sekundarstrahlung geschutzt zu sein.
Es darf nicht vergessen werden, an dem
Gerat nach Benutzung den Strom durch
Druck auf den Druckschalter (8)
auszuschalten.

cular a Ia placa. En este caso, se aconseja un

PUESTA EN MARCHA DEL MINUTERO
ELECTRONICO
Enclavar el interruptor (8). El testigo luminoso
verde (6) se enciende.
Poner el selector de escala de exposicion
(1) en el punto negro o rojo segun el tipo
de placa utilizada.
Ejemplo:
Placa ultrarapida KODAK : punta rojo
Placa EKTASPEED KODAK: punto negro.
Con el boton (4), selecctionar el tiempo de
exposition segun el cuadro de tiempo de
exposicion (paginas 12 y 13).
Para disparar Ia exposicion, pulsar el boton
enlazado al enchufe (9) manteniendolo
apretado durante toda Ia duracion de Ia
exposicion. El testigo luminoso rojo se
enciende (5).
El cordon de disparo le permite alejarse
del paciente en unos 3 metros para estar
protegido contra Ia radiacion que emite
aquel.
No olvidar poner el Sj)arato fuera de ten-
sion despues del uso apoyando sobre el
boton (8).

les variations du secteur.
Le temps de pose a afficher est celui porte sur
notre tableau de temps de pose. II sera res-
pecte si le reseau fournit une tension precise
de 110 ou 220 Volts. II sera allonge ou rac-
courci automatiquement proportionnellement
aux diminutions et aux augmentations de ten-
sion, afin de delivrer une meme quantite de
rayonnement quel!es que soient les variations
du secteur afin d'obtenir des cliches convena-
blement contrastes.
ROLE DU DIAPHRAGME
Le diaphragme est destine a limiter le rayon-
nement a a
30° soit un diamE!tre de 6 em au
niveau de Ia peau afin de reduire au maximum
!'irradiation du patient.
Pour obtenir un bon cliche, le film doit etre
inclu entierement dans le faisceau de rayon-
nement.
Si vous obtenez un film partiellement expose,
le centrage eta it incorrect (Fig. 6 page 8).
Dans le cas de prise de cliches extra-oraux, il
est possible d'enlever le diaphragme afin d'ob-
tenir un faisceau plus large (50° environ) (cli-
ches extra buccaux).

PARTICULARITIES OF ELECTRONIC TIMING
SYSTEM
This timing system compensaties power line
current variations automatically.
The setting time to be displayed is that noted
on our setting time table. It shall be complied
with if the power lines have an accurate 110
or 220 Voltage. It shall be lengthened or shor-
tened proportionally and automatically with
voltage increases or decreases, so that the
same radiation quantity is delivered regardless
of power line current variations. This permits
obtaining suitably contrasted photos.
ROLE OF THE DIAPHRAGM
The diaphragm is intended to limit the radia-
tion to 30°, i e 6 em diameter at skin level, to
reduce patient irradiation to a minimum.
To obtain a good photo, the film should be
included entirely within the radiation beam.
If a partially exposed film is obtained, the cen-
tering was incorrect. (Fig. 6 page 8).
In the case of extra-oral photos, it is possible
to remove the diaphragm to obtain a wider
beam (about 50°) (extra-buccal photos).

oder verkurzt, um eine gleichartige Strahlungs-
quantitiit auszustrahlen, ganz gleich bei wei-
chen Netzstromchwankungen, um geeignet kon-
trastierte Negative zu erzielen.
ROLLE DES ZWERCHFELLS
Das Zwerchfell ist zur Begrenzung der
Strahlung auf 30° bestimnt demnach auf einen
Durchmesser von 6 em auf dem Niveau der
Haut, um die Strahlenexponierung des Patien-
ten auf ein Maximum zu reduzieren.
Zwecks Erzielung eines guten Negativs muss
der Film volkommen im Strahlenbundel ein-
geschlossen sein.
Falls Sie einen teilweise belichteten Film erzie-
len, war die Zentrierung nicht korrekt (Abb. 6
Seite 8).
lm Faile von extra-oralen Negativaufnahmen
besteht die Miiglichkeit, das Zwerchfell zu ent-
fernen; um ein breiteres Strahlenbundel zu
erzielen (ca. 500) (Extra Buccalklischess).

COMETIDO DEL DIAFRAGMA
El diafragma esta destinado para limitar Ia
radiacion a 30° es decir a un diametro de 6 em
a nivel de Ia piel, para limitar en Ia maxima
manera Ia irradiacion del paciente. Para obte-
ner una buena fotografia, Ia placa debe estar
enteramente incluida en el haz de Ia radiacion.
Si se obtienne una placa parcialmente expuesta,
es que el centrado era incorrecto (Fig. 6
pagina 8).
Cuando se tomen clises extra-orales. es posi-
ble quitar el diafragma con lo que se obtiene
un haz mas ancho (unos 50° aproximadamente)
(clises extra bucales).

ANMERKUNG :
Die Expositionszeit vaniert mit dem Quadrat des Abstandes Fokus-Films und der lange Kegel ist etwa
2 Mal so lang wie der Standardkegel, weshalb die Expositionszeiten fast mit 4 multipliziert werden. Es
wird demnach empfohlen, mit dem Iangen Kegel die schnellsten Filme zu verwenden. Es ist ebenfalls
sehr wichtig, nach einer Expositionszeit von 1,5 Sek. oder mehr eine Ruhezeit von 2-3 Minuten zu res-
pektieren, um der Riihre Zeit z:Jm Abkuhlen zu lassen.

1) En chambre noire, sortir le film de son
sachet avec le plus grand soin, afin d'eviter
les empreintes et les coups d'ongles.
2) Le tremper dans le bac de revelateur en
l'agitant pendant quelques secondes et le
laisser pendant 5 mn a 20", 6 mn a 18" ou
4 mn a 22".
3) Le rincer en eau courante pendant envi-
ron 20 s.
4) Le tremper dans le bac de fixateur e.n
l'agitant quelques secondes et le laisser
ensuite pendant 5 mn au mains.
5) Le laver enfin en eau courante. Ce lavage
doit etre prolonge afin d'obtenir une bonne
conservation du film.
6) Le laisser secher a l'air libre sec et
l'abri de Ia poussiere.
Les operations 5 et 6 peuvent etre effec-
tuees a Ia lumiere du jour.
II est tres important d'utiliser des bains bien
doses et recents, et de ne pas rajouter de
revelateur pour renforcer les bains, car cela
augmente le contraste, mais diminue Ia net-
tete.

FILM DEVELOPMENT
The films should be developed rigorously, so
as to obtain a high quality photo.
1) In dark room, extract the film from its bag
most carefully, to avoid fingerprints and nail
scratches.
2) Dip the film into the developer tank, stir-
ring it for a few seconds and leave it for
5 min. at 20" C, 6 min. at 18' or 4 min. at 22·.
3) Rinse the film in running water for about
20 sec.
4) Dip the film in the fixative tank, stirring
it for a few seconds and leave it there for
at least five minutes.
5) Wash the film again in running water.
This washing should be long, so as to obtain
good film conservation.
6) Leave the film dry in dry air, sheltered
from dust.

1) In der Dunkelkammer wird der Film mit
der grossten Sorgfalt aus seinem Beutel
herausgenommen. um Adbrucke und Fin-
gernageleindrucke zu vermeiden.
2) Der Film wird in das Entwicklerbad ein-
getaucht und zwar unter Bewegung wahrend
einiger Sekunden und wird anschliessend
in dem Bad wahrend 5 Min. bei 20", 6 Min.
bei 18 oder 4 Min. bei 22" gelassen.
3) Anschliessend unter fliessendem Wasser
wahrend 20 Sek. etwa auswaschen.
4) In das Fixierbad eintauchen und zwar
unter Bewegen wahrend einiger Sekunden
und anschliessend darin wahrend einer
Dauer von wenigstens 5 Minuten lassen.
5) Zum Schluss unter fliessendem Wasser
gedehnt werden, um eine gute Konservie-
rung des Films zu. erzielen.
6) An trockener und vor Staub geschutzter
Lull trocknen lassen.
Die Massnahmen 5 und 6 konnen bei Tages-
licht durchgefuhrt werden.
Es ist sehr wichtig, frische und sorgfaltig
dosierte Bader zu verwenden und kernen
Entwickler zuzufugen, um die Bader zu vers-
tarken, da dadurch der Kontrast gestiegert,
aber die Klarheit vermindert wird.
REVELADO DE LAS PLACAS
El revelado debe hacerse de modo muy
riguroso para obtener radiograffas de gran
calidad.
1) En Ia camara oscura, sacar Ia pelicula
de su envase con el mayor cuidado, para
evitar las huellas y los golpes con las unas,
que marcan.
2) Sumergirlo en el deposito de revelador
agitandolo durante algunos segundos y de·
jarlo durante 5 mn a 20" ; 6 mn a 18° ; 6
4 mn a 22" C.
3) Aclararlos con agua corriente durante
unos 20 segundos.
4) Sumergirlo en el deposito de fijador agi·
tandolo durante algunos segundos y dejarlo
acto seguido durante 5 mn por lo menos.
5) Lavarlo acto seguido con agua corriente.
Este lavado debe prolongarse para obtener
una buena conservacion de Ia pelicula.
6) Dejarla secar al aire libre seco protegida
del polvo.
Las operaciones 5) y 6) pueden efectuarse
a Ia luz del dia.
Es muy importante utilizar banos bien dosi·
ficados y recientes, y no anadir revelador
para reforzar los banos, porque si bien esto
aumenta el contraste, pero disminuye Ia
nitidez.

Pour leur assurer bon rendement et longue
duree, proceder comme suit :
1) Verification de Ia ligne d'alimentation.
S'assurer que les fils et fusibles reliant
l'appareil au compteur son en bon etat.
Dans les cas douteux, etablir une ligne
directe depuis le compteur.
2) Mesure de Ia tension d'alimentation.
Nos appareils sont livres en 240 V. (230 a
250 V.) ou 120 V. (110 a 130 V.).
Si Ia tension locale n'est pas comprise dans
ces plages, vo1r p. 17)
3) Verification de Ia chute de tension

To ensure both optimum efficiency and long
life, the following procedure should be
observed .
1) Verification of the supply line
Check that the wires and fuses from the watt
hour meter to the appliance are in good
condition. In case of doubt, run a line direct
from the meter.
2) Measurement of the supply voltage
Our units are delivered in 240 V. (230 to
250 V.) or 120 V. (110 to 130 V)
If the local voltage is not within these ran-
ges, seep. 17).
3) Verification of voltage drop during
operation.
Connect the machine to the mains and a
voltmeter to the power supply intake of the
machine.
Set the timer to 2 seconds.
Start the machine and note the exact vol-
tage drop. It should never exceed 5 % of
the nominal value. If it does, increase the
cross sectional area of the supply cables
from the watt hour meter to the machine.

1) Prufung der elektrischen Zuleitung
Nachprufen, ob die Kabel und Sicherungen,
die das Geriit mit dem Zahler verbinden,
in einwandfreiem Zustand sind. lm Zwei-
felsfalle eine Direktleitung zum Zahler
herstellen.
2) Messen der Stromspannung
Unsere Gerate werden fUr 240 V Spannung
geliefert (230 bis 250 V) oder fUr 120 V
Spannung (110 bis 130 V). Sollte die lokale
Stromspannung ausserhalb dieser Span-
nungsberelche liegen. s. p. 17.
3) Prufung der Spannungsschwankungen
wllhrend der Gerlltefunktion
Das Gerat an das Strommetz anschliessen
und einen Voltmesser an der Anschluss-
Steckdose des Gerates anbringen.
Den Zeitmesser auf 2 Sekunden einstellen.
Die Strahlen auslosen und die genaue
Spannungsschwankung beim Strom-
durchlauf feststellen. Diese darf nie mehr
als 5 % des Nominalwertes betragen.
Andernfalls mussen die Zuleitungskabel
verstiirkt werden, welche das Gerat mit
dem Zahler verbinden.

linea directa desde el contador.
2) Medida de Ia tension de alimantacion
Entregamos nuestros aparatos conectados
en 240V (230a250V) o 120V (110a 130V).
Si no esta incluida Ia tension local en esos
limites, veanse p. 17).
3) Verificacion de Ia caida de tension al
momento de funcionar.
Unir el aparato con el sector y conectar un
voltimetro con el enchufe de alimentacion
del aparato.
Regular el interruptor automatico en 2 se-
gundas.
Disparar el rayo y observar Ia caida de
tension exacta. No debera exceder
5% del valor nominal.
En el caso contrario, aumentar Ia seccion
de los hilos de alimentacion desde el
contador hasta el aparato.
