WHAT ARE OUR FIELDS OF INTERVENTION ?

JVE is involved in several fields such as environment, sustainable development, energy, climate, biodiversity, water and
sanitation and counts three strategic axes.

Energy-Climate-Development

This axe aims to create favorable conditions for community resilience to climate
change and facilitates access to recent sources that emit less greenhouse energy for
sustainable development. It specifically focuses on promoting and popularizing
renewable energy sources that contribute to a better energy efficiency, improving
the legislative and regulatory framework for better governance in the energy sector,
helping reduce the effects of climate change at the community level trough
advocacy, awareness and education.

Sustainable Management of Natural Resources and Community Development

The objective of this axe is to promote better management of natural resources,

guaranteeing a harmonious and peaceful local development. Through conserving
biodiversity and ecosystems, promoting cultural techniques and practices that have
less negative impact on biodiversity and the environment, fighting against
chemical substances with harmful consequences on natural resources. YVE is
involving in this process by putting a main focus on facilitating access to water,
sanitation and hygiene.

Citizen Engagement

This strategic direction is to develop leadership and eco-citizenship of different

actors for participatory development, inclusive and accountable. Promoting
environmental and civic education includes facilitating access to information for
the mobilization of all process of sustainable development, promoting social
justice for all as well as promoting sustainable consumption and production.
Encouraging the youth to get involved in Green Entrepreneurship businesses and
support their capacity building and reinforcement are principle actions taken in
this field of intervention.

OUR PROJECTS
CLENA (Clean Energy for Africa)

CLENA (Clean Energy for Africa) is a project launched

in 2012 targeting youth, secondarily decision-makers
as well as local communities. The project aims at
introducing and spreading poverty-oriented and
sustainable solutions to energy production and
utilization, focusing on biomass in particular.
Considering the fact that 1.4 billion people worldwide
have no access to electricity and some 2.5 billion
people rely on traditional biomass for cooking and Activities in this project:

OUR PROJECTS
RECA (Resource Center for
Alternative Energy)

RECA is a project that is carried out on a national

scale and aims at strengthening local
communities in Togo in order to develop their
Energy Plan as well as their participation in the
national energy debate. The project’s main goal is
to reduce poverty through the production and
dissemination of viable energy technologies
Activities in this project:

An important part of the RECA project is
the agro-ecology research and
formation centre (CEFRA). It was
launched in 2013 in Tsiko (region Kpélé)
and aims at developing a research side
for sustainable farming, ecology and
botanics, offering consultant services in
agro-ecology as well as creating a
network at a national scale. The centre
offers various possibilities on formation
