condition of the machine before moving the compressor. Visually check that no parts are damaged. Also ensure that all accessories
are available.
It is forbidden to flip the compressor or to use hooks and/or ropes for the lifting.
Lift the machine using a forklift or pallet truck. Fit the anti-vibration elements into their proper seat and move the machine to
the room chosen for its location with maximum care.
The compressor must stand on a horizontal plane (level) which ensures its stability in relation to its overall dimensions.
You are advised not to obstruct or prevent cooling air exiting the compressor in any way.
Keep all packing materials at least for the warranty period for possible moving. In case of need, it will be safer for delivery to
the technical assistance dept.

LOCATION (Fig.2) 2
The room chosen for the installation of the compressor should
meet the following requirements and comply with what is specified
in the current safety and accident prevention regulations:
• low percentage of fine dust,
• proper room ventilation and size that allow room
temperature under 40°C, with humidity between 30 and 80%. In the
event of inadequate hot air discharge, fit the exhaust fans as high
as possible.
Condensate should be collected either into a pit or a tank.
The dimensions of the spaces are indicative only but it is advisable
to follow them as closely as possible.
Do not leave the unit exposed to weathering.

DEMOLITION
When demolishing the compressor, abide scrupulously by the regulations in force in the country concerned regarding the
protection of the environment.
CER CODES (European waste catalogue): all the compressor components must obligatorily be identified according to the
definitions of the “ewc codes” and disposed of, appointing authorised and specialised firms, absolutely respecting the regulations
in force in the country of demolition.
Then, dispose of packing materials in compliance with current laws.

EN START-UP AND OPERATION

CHECKS TO BE CARRIED OUT PRIOR TO 4

START-UP
Before starting the machine for the first time, check that:
• the mains voltage is the same as the voltage on the CE
plate;
• the electric connections have been made using cables
of proper cross-section;
• the main automatic switch (on the wall) is of the correct
type and size;
• electrical connections are intact;
• the internal pipes of the air / oil system are intact.

Main electric switch turned in “0” (OFF) position.

• Connect a suitable plug to the compressor (if any) and
plug in the socket.
• At the first start and all new electricity connection, it is
essential to check the direction of rotation indicated.
If the direction of rotation is wrong the control board send a
message of error and the air compressor does not start.

WORKING CYCLE (Fig.5) 7 1 2 8

5
• On start-up of the motors on the compressor modules (no. 2
units), the compressors (2) start directly and timed slightly apart,
working in fully operational mode and starting to compress the
atmospheric air which is taken in via the air filter (1).
• The compressed air, by crossing the tubing (3), reaches the
radiators (4) and undergoes a first cooling stage.
• The compressed air then passes through the check valve
(5) and the tubing (6) to flow into the final air exchanger (7)
where it undergoes the second cooling stage and separation 3
of condensate.
• The cooled compressed air free of condensate crosses the 9
tubing (8) to enter the pneumatic mains or the external air tank. 1
• The condensate is drained via the tube (9). 2
• Having reached calibration pressure (STOP), the compressor
modules stop. 3
• If the request for air continues, having reached the (START)
pressure, the first compressor module starts again, if a single
compressor module is not sufficient to meet the request for air,
the second module is also then switched on. The control unit
manages the rotation criteria of the compressor modules on 4 5 6
switch on. (see controller chapter).
• If the air request terminates, the machine stops. It remains
in standby to restart in the event of a new air request.
• Each time a compressor module stops, the compressed air
from the mains cannot return to the compressor unit because
the check valve (5) closes.

EN MAINTENANCE
• Correct maintenance is crucial to achieve maximum efficiency of your compressor, and to lengthen its operating life.
• It is also important to comply with the maintenance intervals recommended, but it must be remembered that such intervals
are suggested by the manufacturer in the event that the environmental conditions of use of the compressor are optimal (see
“Installation” chapter).
• The maintenance intervals can therefore be reduced depending on the environmental conditions in which the compressor
operates.
• The maintenance operations described in the table below and on the following pages must be carried out by authorised
staff.

CLEANING/REPLACING THE FILTERING
ELEMENT (Fig.7) 7
With the compressor stopped, remove the lid D and carefully
clean the filtering element D1 using compressed air from the
inside towards the outside. Check, against the light, for the
presence of possible tears and if necessary, replace it.
The filtering element and the lid should be mounted with care,
so that no dust can enter the compression unit.
Never allow the compressor to function without the filtering D1
element. D

CLEANING THE RADIATOR (Fig.8)

It is recommended that in case of over temperature anomalies
and however, at least once a year that the radiator is cleaned. 8
Proceed as follows:
position a sheet of protective plastic under the radiant pack;
spray (with a washing + detergent gun) from inside towards
the outside;
check that the air flows correctly by means of the radiator.

Use a suitable measuring instrument that determines with
precision the belt tension degree by means of a frequency
measuring device in order to perform this control.
Operate as follows:
- place the microphone of the measuring instrument near to the
belt (about half way) and hit the belt with a wrench.
- read the value detected by the instrument and if different from
the values indicated in the table (9A) (column A new belt, column
B run-in belt) adjust the tension:
Value higher = belt too tight
Value lower = belt too loose

c) NB: The operations relating to the belt should be carried out C

with the compressor stopped and the front door and right side C2 C1
panel removed.
For adjustment :
- loosen bolt B1 and adjust tension with the screws C1 and C2.
