Some Definitions:

I = Feed rate in kg/h or t/h

material amount per unit time
P = Feed rate setpoint in kg/h or t/h
Z = Amount fed out in kg or t
n = Measuring wheel speed in rpm O Z1 = 362.5 kg
Q = Measured load I = 1498 kg/h
load on load cells in kg
Xd = Deviation in %Pnom

Gravimetric: controlled mode

Volumetric: uncontrolled mode

Measuring Principle:

The material is guided to a rotating measuring wheel, G = Speed

deflected and moved towards the lower outlet
opening. The torque exerted on motor is measured. L/C = Load cell
INTECONT computes feed rate and amount fed out
from torque and measuring wheel speed. A = Analog output selectable for feed
The material prefeeder is controlled so that feed rate rate, measured load and speed
corresponds to specified setpoint.
SERIAL = Serial interface for printer and host
Measuring Technique: computer
n Precision AC voltage amplifier with continuous
correction of zero point and range. 24 V = Power supply

n Highly resolving analog-to-digital converter. MIN = Relay output for MIN monitoring
The integrated method is designed to efficiently
suppress mains voltage interferences. MAX = Relay output for MAX monitoring.
n 16-bit microcontroller Feed rate, measured load or
speed can be monitored
Unlimited storage of counter readings, configuration separately for MIN and MAX:
and calibration data.
ALARM = Relay output for ALARM

4. Operating Principle
Your Mass Flow Feeder is designed to continuously

passing through the system.
The system is suited for installation in enclosed
handling routes.

Construction and Operating Principle O P = 100.0 kg/h

I = 100.0 kg/h
The measuring system consists of a measuring wheel
rotating at constant speed and divided into chambers
by specially shaped guide vanes.

The material flowing continuously into the mass flow

feeder through the inlet hopper is radially moved
outwards by the rotating impellers of the measuring
wheel after deflection by the cone.

proportional to the torque and translated into digital
information with the use of an analog-to-digital
converter.

Speed transducer G acquires the speed of the

measuring wheel and transfers the value to the
microprocessor system using a frequency-to-digital
converter. Frequency-to-digital and analog-to-digital
converters are incorporated in the INTECONT
weighing electronics.

Almost any possible error in operation is reported by

event message. For interpretation, see Chapter 10.

Check INTECONT for proper operation by using a

simple test plug. This helps to see whether the fault is
with load cell, cabling or electrical equipment.

1. Switch plug as shown in drawing.

2. Withdraw load cell connector X7 and replace by
test plug.

At the indicated resistance values, the following

service values result:

1. wz apr. 1.1mV/V
2. Load cell apr. 55 % (C02 =2mV/V)

If wz is in specified range, measuring amplifier

operates properly.

Note:
With different R1 and R2 resistance values, the
following raw measured value results:

If setpoint falls below limit F09 for more than 3s,

prefeeder output goes to Stop state.
Controller magnitude is set to the MIN value specified

If note, see “Adaption”.

Adaption:

After every complete batch, INTECONT uses the

missing material amount to compute a correction
value (I02). Dribble feed changeover point is adapted
automatically.

Error = SETPOINT - amount batched

Cut-off point for next batch is computed from error and

corrected.

DI Complete Batch:

The Complete Batch contact acts like a Stop

command with additional abort of batch. Next Start
command starts new batch.

Alarm:

Batch stops (measuring wheel and prefeeder

immediately cut off). To resume, remove cause of fault
and acknowledge event message.
