Summary

The Author Maylen Q.Pedragoza wrote an Action research entitled “Learner Support in

the Utilization of Self Learning Module for TLE Specializations: Effective Tool for Continuous

Learning Amidst Pandemic” an was published on February 2021 at Research Gate.net.publication.

This study was conducted to propose a solution to the challenges posited by modular distance

learning to the students and teachers of Technology and Livelihood Education Specializations of

Sta. Anastacia-San Rafael National High School. The instruments used in this study are focus group

observations for respondent feelings, reactions, attitudes, and experiences; interviews as to

collect data not covered by observations; and descriptive survey method using questionnaire

checklist to gather pertinent data. Percentage formulae and weighted mean were utilized to

describe the demographic profile and to weight every indicator as selected in the variable. The

specific objectives of this research were to: (1) Identify the roles assume by the Learners Support

to help TLE students actively engage in self-learning module. (2) Enumerate the functions laid

down by the TLE teachers as providers of Learner support. (3) Describe the impact of the Learner

Support to the students of TLE Specializations. (4) Identify the most effective way to deliver

Learner Support in this time of pandemic. This research will utilize the combination of qualitative

and quantitative methodology in gathering the evidences, process and analyze information, and

to evaluate the results. The following statistical treatments was applied: 1. Percentage was used

to describe the demographic attribute of the respondents in terms of a selected variable under
demographic profile. (2) Weighted Mean was used to describe the weight of every indicator as

selected in the variable used in the study and averaged across each variable.

CRITIQUE

This paper will be relevance to the researchers and scholars who are conducting a

study related to Effective Tool for Continuous Learning Amidst Pandemic. The researcher used

Slovin’s formula to determine the sample size of the entire population. Due to the large

population it is not realistic to get a response from everyone, so the researcher chooses the right

sampling technique to represent the entire population. My positive comment to this research is

first: the researcher shows the computation on how to get the sample size to indication the

transparency and validity of the sample size. Second: Action Research Work Plan and Timelines

were shown for the reference or guidance of the readers on how the action research was

conducted. Third: The researcher attached the Instrument of the study in the article for the

reference of the future or other researcher. Third
