The superlative expresses “the most” or “the least”. To form the superlative in French
you use the definite article le, la, les with plus or moins. The superlative is followed by
de. Study the following examples.
1. The adjective bon(ne)(s) has irregular forms in the comparative and superlative -
meilleur(e)(s) and le (la, les) meilleur(e)(s).
2. The adverb bien also has an irregular comparative and superlative: mieux, le
mieux.
Note that mieux, just like bien, is an adverb and therefore is invariable.
