 French Audiobooks and Bilingual Books for Children
A mon actuel petit maître, Henri.
Mon cher petit maître,
Vous avez été bon pour moi, mais vous avez parlé
avec mépris des ânes en général. Je veux que vous
sachiez mieux quelle sorte d'animaux les ânes sont
vraiment, et c'est pourquoi j'ai écrit pour vous
l'histoire de ma vie. Vous verrez, mon cher petit
maître, que nous, les ânes, avons été et sommes
injustement traités par les hommes.
C'est le début de l'audiolivre en français que je viens
juste de publier. Le DVD contient l'audiolivre (mp3)
et le fichier PDF du livre bilingue.
Devrait-il être classé parmi les livres bilingues pour
enfants? Je n'en suis pas sûre. Ce fut un plaisir pour
moi de le préparer, et je ne suis pas si jeune.

My Dear Little Master,
You have been kind to me, but you have spoken
contemptuously of donkeys in general. I want you to
know better what sort of animals donkeys really are,
and so I have written for you this story of my life. You
will see, my dear little Master, that we donkeys have
been, and still are, often badly treated by human
beings.
This is the beginning of the French audiobook I have
just released. The DVD contains the audiobook (mp3)
and the PDF file of the bilingual book.
Should it be put among the bilingual books for
children? I am not sure. It has been a pleasure for me
to prepare it, and I am not that young.

Comme CNN le rapporte:
"Une société convaincue d'une fraude sanitaire
majeure est automatiquement exclue de Medicare et
Medicaid. Déclarer Pfizer coupable à propos du
Bextra aurait empêché la société de facturer des
programmes de santé pour l'un quelconque de ses
produits. Ça aurait été la condamner à mort.
"Et donc, Pfizer et les fédéraux ont passé un accord.
Au lieu d'accuser Pfizer d'un crime, les procureurs
accuseraient une filiale de Pfizer, Pharmacia &

tax creator; now comes the "too big to nail" justice
killer.
As CNN reported:
"Any company convicted of a major health care fraud
is automatically excluded from Medicare and
Medicaid. Convicting Pfizer on Bextra would prevent
the company from billing federal health programs for
any of its products. It would be a corporate death
sentence.
"So Pfizer and the feds cut a deal. Instead of charging
Pfizer with a crime, prosecutors would charge a Pfizer
subsidiary, Pharmacia & Upjohn Co. Inc. … [This]
subsidiary is nothing more than a shell company
whose only function is to plead guilty.”
It rings a bell.
 Authority and Obedience
Un faux concours télé a reproduit l'expérience
conduite dans les années soixante par Stanley
Milgram. Mais si, vous la connaissez: des volontaires
avaient l'ordre d'infliger des chocs électriques à
quelqu'un qui ne donnait pas les bonnes réponses. On
disait aux volontaires que c'était pour améliorer la
mémoire.
Stanley Milgram avait trouvé environ 60% de gens
prêts à infliger des douleurs terribles à d'autres gens.
Mais selon les producteurs du programme, seulement
19% des participants ont arrêté le jeu avant d'atteindre
la charge maximum d'électricité.
Vous pensez que vous n'obéiriez pas à l'autorité en
pareil cas? Vraiment? Combien parmi vous m'ont dit
que, forcément, si mon compte Google avait été
fermé, c'était parce que je devais avoir fait quelque
chose de mal. Google est l'autorité. Ça ne se discute
même pas.
A fake TV contest has reproduced the experiment
conducted in the 60s by Stanley Milgram. Of course,
you know it: volunteers were ordered to inflict electric
shocks to someone who did not give the right answers.
The volunteers were told that it was to improve
memory.
Stanley Milgram had found around 60% of people
ready to inflict horrendous pain on other people. But
according to the program producers, only 19% of the
entrants put a stop to the game before reaching the
maximum charge of electricity.
You think you would not obey the authority in such a
case? Really? How many among you have told me
that, for sure, if my Google account had been closed, it
was because I should have done something wrong.
Google is the authority. The question does not even
arise.
