LES MOIS DE L’ANNÉE: THE
MONTHS OF THE YEAR
Il y a combien de mois dans une année?
How many months are there in a year?
Il y a douze mois dans une année.
There are twelve months in a year.
Les Noms: Nouns in French: Nouns are either masculine or feminine, singular or plural.
Usually we add ‘s’ to make the noun plural. Sometimes we add x for words ending in ‘eu’
or ‘eau’..
L’article défini: Definite articles in French: the word ‘the’ has 4 forms in French
le for masculine, la for feminine, l’ for words starting with vowel or ‘h’ mute and les for
plural nouns. Eg. Le crayon (the pencil), la fille (the girl), l’enfant (the child),
l’horloge (the clock), les crayons (the pencils), les amis ( the friends).
