Present Simple

LE PRÉSENT SIMPLE EST UTILISÉ:
 pour exprimer des habitudes, des vérités générales, des actions répétées ou des situations immuables, des
émotions et des désirs :
I eat vegetables. (habitude)
I work in London. (situation immuable)
Water boils at 100 degrees Celsius. (vérité générale)

 pour donner des instructions ou des directives :


You walk for two hundred meters, then you turn left.

 pour exprimer des dispositions fixes, présentes ou futures :


Your exam starts at 09.00.

SOME SIGNAL WORDS: sometimes, usually, never, this week, everyday, every weekend…

Attention aux verbes qui finissent par :


-S => to pass
-O => to go
-X => to fix
-Z => to buzz
-H => to wash
Il faut ajouter –es à la troisième personne du singulier

He passes, she goes, he fixes, it buzzes, she washes


Affirmative : 3rd person sing

Pour les verbes se terminant par –y : Verbe to have :


« Y » précédé d’une voyelle = +S
