Dear Mr. Ford:

RE: Cease and Desist – Defamatory Publication of October 11, 2023

Kindly be advised that I represent Member of the Provincial Parliament (MPP) Sarah Jama
and write this letter on her behalf.

It has come to our attention that on October 11, 2023, you have published on your twitter
account the following post:

To date, your defamatory publication has been viewed 1.5 million times, “liked” 7,167 times and
reposted 2,108 times. In it, you have recklessly and maliciously stated that Ms. Jama has,
among other things:

(a) “a long and well-documented history of antisemitism”;

(b) “hateful views”; and
(c) “publicly supported the rape and murder of innocent Jewish people”.

Furthermore, you have thus implied that Ms. Jama is:

(a) racist in her outlook, particularly towards Jewish people;

(b) sympathetic to terrorism; and
(c) unfit to properly represent her constituency.

Please note that these published statements have done and continue to do serious harm to Ms.
Jama’s reputation. It is also our considered opinion that the above statements easily meet the
test of defamatory statements as contemplated by the Libel and Slander Act of Ontario and
damages have been occasioned as a result.

Please be advised of the following:

(1) Ms. Jama demands that you immediately cease and desist from publishing the
defamatory remarks as described above.

(2) Ms. Jama demands an immediate retraction of the October 11, 2023 defamatory
tweet and the publication of an unequivocal apology.

(3) This letter shall serve as notice for the purposes of section 5(1) of the Libel and
Slander Act.

(4) A legal proceeding shall follow in defamation pursuant to the Libel and Slander
Act.

Please understand that tarnishing Ms. Jama’s reputation in such a public manner will not be
tolerated under any circumstances.

We demand that you formally retract the posts and publicly apologize within the next seven (7)
calendar days, failing which Ms. Jama has instructed us to escalate matters further, which may
include, without limitation, issuing a statement of claim against you personally.
