INTRODUCTION

Violence is a growing phenomenon in the world. Because interests

diverge, some people resort to violence to solve their problems. It can be
verbal or even physical , the final objective being to belittle and humiliate
his so-called "opponent" and to prove a non-existent superiority over
him. It means the intentional use of physical force, threats against others
or oneself, against a group or community, which is likely to result in
trauma, psychological harm, developmental problems or death. It is the
barometer of relationships between men.

I. DIFFERENT TYPES OF VIOLENCE

1. Physical abuse
It is the use of physical force deliberately towards another person
with the aim of harming and hurting him, and it can take different forms:
pushing, hitting, murdering, or raping, etc.

2. Moral violence

it is the attack on the personal value of the other, on his self-esteem

and his self-confidence by denigrating and diminishing him; Can be
transmitted through looks, attitudes, gestures or words

3. Domestic violence

Is due to the deterioration of family relationships within the home,

especially between couples, which has a negative impact on children.

4. Violence at school

Is a state of instability, which clearly presents itself between pupils or

between teachers or between student and teacher.

5. Mass violence

Political, economic and social violence.

II. THE CAUSES OF VIOLENCE

Violence results from a feeling of serious psychological frustration,

it is generally caused by negligence or mistreatment, but we also find the
hereditary factor and economic factor such as poverty, unemployment,
these social factors which influence in the first place the education, level
of culture and consciousness of a person.

 Poverty of the ever-increasing youth mass (35% in Kinshasa);

 Social fractures;

 Excessive consumption of alcohol and drugs;

 Wars, poverty in rural areas, rural exodus, population explosion,

mass unemployment;

 The lack of public lighting, shortage of policing …

III. THE CONSEQUENCES OF VIOLENCE

Today's world has many factors that lead to violence. Violence can
have negative consequences on mental health. Indeed, children who are
victims of violence often grow up with many psychological problems.
Similarly, some women are also victims of violence. From there, they can
experience psychological problems as well as trauma. They can also
become addicted to alcohol and become very aggressive. Drug use can
also be one of the consequences of violence. The latter can be
psychological and also often lead to many traumas. We find this form of
violence in couples, for example, and there, children are often witnesses
to this unbearable evil. This can negatively impact them.

1. On the victims

 Injuries: bruises, cuts, burns, concussions, broken bones,

miscarriages.
 Chronic health problems: sleep disturbances, gastrointestinal
problems, loss of appetite, headaches, back pain.

 Mortality.

 Psychological disorders: loss of self-esteem, depression, stress,

anxiety, panic attacks, despair, suicide attempts.

 Symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder: feelings of fear or

helplessness, nightmares, avoidance of people and places
associated with trauma, irritability, hyper-vigilance.

 Leak in alcohol, drugs or medication.

 Social isolation

2. On society and economy

 Absenteeism at work, reduced productivity, layoffs.

 Costs associated with police intervention, legal and correctional

services, health services, counseling services, halfway houses.

IV. THE SOLUTIONS

Violence has never been a solution to solve the problems whatever

they are. Violence begets violence. This is why most revolutions have
perverted into dictatorships. History shows us that violence rarely creates
and solves problems. On the other hand creates unfathomable suffering.
This is why it is imperative that you try to communicate in order to find
an ideal and peaceful solution. This will prevent injury to anyone. Also,
everyone must learn to be tolerant.

Because tolerance is an important factor for living in peace in

society. Tolerating spares both physical and mental suffering. We must
try to cultivate this inner strength which allows us to have kindness
towards others. The latter, as well as communication, are indisputable
solutions to avoid violence and to live in peace and love on a deeper level.
Also we have:

 Adopt good habits for the education of children avoiding any type
of violence because of its negative consequences on stability and
security

 Educate young people to take responsibility and model positive

behaviors: peaceful conflict resolution and anger management, in
order to enjoy good relationships.

 Avoid tobacco and drug use

CONCLUSION

Ultimately, human life remains confronted with the experience of

violence. Violence is always frightening and destructive. However, it has
sometimes contributed to the construction of a new world. Violence
seems to respond to a need for the organization of society
