Sur C, on considère la relation R définie par
x Ry ⇔ |x | = |y |.
1 Réflexivité:
Soit z ∈ C. On a |z| = |z| donc zRz. R est réflexive.
2 Symétrie:
Soit z1 , z2 ∈ C tels z1 Rz2 .
4 Transitivité:
Soit z1 , z2 , z3 ∈ C tels que z1 Rz2 et z2 Rz3 .
( (
z1 Rz2 |z1 | = |z2 |
⇒
z2 Rz3 |z2 | = |z3 |
⇒ |z1 | = |z2 | = |z2 | = |z3 |
⇒ |z1 | = |z3 |
⇒ z1 Rz3 .
(
z1 Rz2
Donc ⇒ z1 Rz3 . R est transitive.
z2 Rz3
EXEMPLES: RELATIONS BINAIRES
Exemple
Sur l’ensemble Z, on considère les relations R défines par :
x Ry si 2x + 2y ≤ 5.
1 Réflexivité:
5
Soit x ∈ Z. On a 2x + 2x ≤ 5 ⇔ 4x ≤ 5 ⇔ x ≤ . On
4
a 2 × 2 + 2 × 2 = 8 > 5. On a pas 2R2 donc R n’est pas
réflexive.
EXEMPLES: RELATIONS BINAIRES
2 Symétrie:
Soit x1 , x2 ∈ Z tels x1 Rx2 .
4 Transitivité:
On a 2 × 2 + 2 × 0 = 4 < 5, 2 × 0 + 2 × 1 = 2 < 5 et
2 × 2 + 2 × 1 = 6 > 5. C’est-à-dire qu’on a 2R0 et 0R1
et on n’a pas 2R1 d’où R n’est pas transitive.
EXEMPLES: RELATIONS BINAIRES
Exemple
Sur Z, on considère la relation R définie par x Ry ⇔ 3x − y
est pair.
1 Réflexivité:
Soit x ∈ Z. On a 3x − x = 2x donc xRx . R est réflexive.
2 Symétrie:
Soit x , y ∈ Z tels x Ry .
Alors
4 Transitivité:
Soit x , y , z ∈ Z tels que x Ry et y Rz.
( (
x Ry 3x − y pair
⇒
y Rz 3y − z pair
(
3x − y = 2k; k ∈ Z
⇒
3y − z = 2h; h ∈ Z
⇒ 3x − z = 3x − y + y − z = 2k + y − z
= 2k + y + 2y − 2y − z = 2k − 2y + (3y − z)
= 2k − 2y + 2h = 2(k − y + h)
⇒ 3x − z pair ⇒ x Rz.
(
x Ry
Donc ⇒ x Rz. R est transitive.
y Rz
EXEMPLES: RELATIONS BINAIRES
Exemple
Sur N∗ , on considère la relation R définie par
x Ry ⇔ x divise y .
1 Réflexivité:
Soit x ∈ N∗ . On a x = 1.x donc x divise x c’est à dire
xRx . R est réflexive.
2 Antisymétrie:
Soit x , y ∈ Z tels x Ry et y Rx .
( ( (
x Ry x divise y y = kx , k ∈ N∗
⇒ ⇒ ⇒ x = hkx .
y Rx y divise x x = hy , h ∈ N∗
4 Transitivité:
Soit x , y , z ∈ Z tels que x Ry et y Rz.
( ( (
x Ry x divise y y = kx , k ∈ N∗
⇒ ⇒
y Rz y divise z z = hy , h ∈ N∗
⇒ z = hkx
⇒ x Rz. car hk ∈ N∗
(
x Ry
Donc ⇒ x Rz. R est transitive.
y Rz
R est réflexive, antisymétrique et transitive. Donc R est une
relation d’ordre.
