𝑒 𝑖𝑥 = cos 𝑥 + 𝑖 sin 𝑥; 𝑥 ∈ 𝑅
Fonctions trigonométriques réciproques
1. Arc cosinus :
La fonction 𝑐𝑜𝑠: 𝑅 → [−1,1] est surjective mais pas injective entant que fonction
périodique. Mais si on considère la restriction du cosinus à l’intervalle [0,𝜋] cette
fonction devient aussi injective et donc bijective. Sa fonction réciproque s’appelle arc
cosinus. Par définition :
𝑎𝑟𝑐𝑐𝑜𝑠: [−1,1] → [0, 𝜋]
𝑦 → "𝑙𝑎 𝑠𝑒𝑢𝑙𝑒 𝑠𝑜𝑙𝑢𝑡𝑖𝑜𝑛 𝑥 ∈ [0, 𝜋] 𝑑𝑒 𝑙′é𝑞𝑢𝑎𝑡𝑖𝑜𝑛 cos 𝑥 = 𝑦"
On a donc que :
arccos 𝑦 = "𝑙𝑒 𝑠𝑒𝑢𝑙 𝑎𝑟𝑐 𝑐𝑜𝑚𝑝𝑟𝑖𝑠 𝑒𝑛𝑡𝑟𝑒 0 𝑒𝑡 𝜋 𝑑𝑜𝑛𝑡 𝑙𝑒 𝑐𝑜𝑠𝑖𝑛𝑢𝑠 𝑣𝑎𝑢𝑡 𝑦".
Par construction :
arccos(cos 𝑥) = 𝑥; ∀𝑥 ∈ [0, 𝜋] et 𝑦 = cos (arccos 𝑦) ∀𝑦 ∈ [−1,1].
Exemple 1 :
1 𝜋 𝜋 1 𝜋
𝐴𝑟𝑐𝑐𝑜𝑠 (2) = 3 𝑐𝑎𝑟 𝑒𝑠𝑡 𝑙 ′ 𝑎𝑛𝑔𝑙𝑒 𝑑𝑜𝑛𝑡 𝑙𝑒 𝑐𝑜𝑠𝑖𝑛𝑢𝑠 𝑣𝑎𝑢𝑡 et 0 < 3 < 𝜋

2. Arc sinus :
La fonction 𝑠𝑖𝑛: 𝑅 →[-1,1] est surjective mais pas injective. Si on considère la
−𝜋 𝜋
restriction du sinus à l’intervalle [ 2 , 2 ], cette fonction devient aussi injective et donc
bijective. Sa fonction réciproque s’appelle arc sinus donc on a :

−𝜋 𝜋
𝑦 → "𝐿𝑎 𝑠𝑒𝑢𝑙𝑒 𝑠𝑜𝑙𝑢𝑡𝑖𝑜𝑛 ≤ 𝑥 ≤ 𝑑𝑒 𝑙′é𝑞𝑢𝑎𝑡𝑖𝑜𝑛 sin x = y".

Par définition, on peut dire :

𝐴𝑟𝑐𝑠𝑖𝑛 𝑦 = « 𝑙𝑒 𝑠𝑒𝑢𝑙 𝑎𝑟𝑐 𝑐𝑜𝑚𝑝𝑟𝑖𝑠 𝑒𝑛𝑡𝑟𝑒 2 𝑒𝑡 2 𝑑𝑜𝑛𝑡 𝑙𝑒 𝑠𝑖𝑛𝑢𝑠 𝑣𝑎𝑢𝑡 𝑦 ».
On aura :
−π π
𝑎𝑟𝑐𝑠𝑖𝑛 (𝑠𝑖𝑛 𝑥) = 𝑥, 𝑝𝑜𝑢𝑟 𝑡𝑜𝑢𝑡 𝑥 ∈ [ 2 , 2 ] et 𝑦 = 𝑠𝑖𝑛 (𝑎𝑟𝑐𝑠𝑖𝑛 𝑦) 𝑦 ∈ [−1,1]

3. Arctan :
En ce qui concerne la fonction tangente, elle aussi est périodique, donc elle n’est pas
−𝜋 𝜋
injective. De toute façon sur tout intervalle du type ( 2 + 𝑘𝜋, 2 + 𝑘𝜋) elle est
strictement croissante et donc injective. Sa restriction :

I. Définition
D’après l’identité d’Euler :
cos 𝑥 = 𝑅𝑒 (𝑒 𝑖𝑥 )
𝑠𝑖𝑛 𝑥 = 𝐼𝑚 (𝑒 𝑖𝑥 )
𝑜𝑛 𝑎: 𝑒 𝑖𝑥 = cos 𝑥 + 𝑖 sin 𝑥
Et 𝑒 −𝑖𝑥 = 𝑒 𝑖(−𝑥) = cos(−𝑥) + 𝑖𝑠𝑖𝑛(−𝑥) = cos 𝑥 − 𝑖 sin 𝑥
Donc 𝑒 𝑖𝑥 𝑒𝑠𝑡 𝑙𝑒 𝑐𝑜𝑛𝑗𝑢𝑔𝑢é 𝑑𝑒 𝑒 −𝑖𝑥
D’où :
𝑒 𝑖𝑥 + 𝑒 −𝑖𝑥
cos 𝑥 =

𝑒 𝑖𝑥 − 𝑒 −𝑖𝑥
i sin 𝑥 =

Remplaçons 𝑥 par 𝑖𝑥
