‫لوي‬ Levite // Lévite

The Levites (Greek Leuitas [N329]) were the descendents of Levi, son of Jacob (Israel), and thus made up
one of the twelve tribes of Israel. The tribe of Levi was appointed by God to service the tabernacle
(temple) continually. Aaron was a Levite, one of Levi’s great grand sons, and Aaron and his descendents, a
sub-group of the Levites, were appointed by God as priests.
