la sortie d’usine et remplacera ou réparera cet appareil s’il s’est avéré défectueux en utilisation normale ou au
cours d’une opération d’entretien pendant UN AN à partir de la date de livraison.
Notre obligation dans le cadre de cette garantie se limite à la réparation de l’appareil défectueux ou d’une pièce
quelconque de cet appareil lorsqu’elle est renvoyée, en port payé, à un atelier service autorisé ou à nos services
de SAINT-HERBLAIN.
Cette garantie sera considérée comme caduque si l’appareil a été faussé, mal entretenu ou négligé, mal utilisé
ou détérioré accidentellement.
Il n’existe aucune autre garantie explicite en dehors des clauses ci-dessus.

1 UTILISATION ET FONCTION

1.1 . DESCRIPTION

Le BB-CQCS est un Système de Contrôle Qualité pour la Centrifugation.

Il a pour objet d’optimiser et de faciliter le suivi de production au niveau du process de centrifugation.
Il assure ainsi la traçabilité des centrifugeurs, produits et opérateurs ; il permet également de suivre
l’historique de fonctionnement de chaque appareil et est, à ce tître, considéré comme un véritable outil
d’aide à la maintenance.

1.2 . FONCTIONS

Avec la connexion de 1 à 32 centrifugeurs, il est possible de transférer sur un PC l’ensemble des données
relatives à un cycle de centrifugation.
Ce système permet de stocker, de visualiser, en temps réel sur un PC et d’imprimer l’ensemble des
données suivantes :
Données principales :
- Date / Heure
- Identification du centrifugeur (numéro d’identité et numéro de série)
- Identification du programme de centrifugation
- Paramètres réels de centrifugation : vitesse ou RCF, temps ou intégrale, température, état du
centrifugeur
Données détaillées :
- Données principales
- Heure de début de cycle
- Nom des programmes
- Nom des opérateurs
- Paramètres d’accélération et de freinage
- Courbe de fin de cycle (température et vitesse en fonction du temps)
- Identités des poches centrifugées grâce à un système de double lecture code barres.

2 PROCEDURE D’INSTALLATION

2.1. INSTALLATION DES KITS

Il existe plusieurs références de kits ; pour chacun d‘entre eux, veuillez vous reporter au manuel de
montage (notices 250382 et 250383).

2.1.1. KIT RÉFÉRENCE 11178164 (POUR 1er CENTRIFUGEUR CONNECTÉ)

Ce kit comprend les éléments suivants :
- Hardware destiné au PC
- Boîtier communication
- Hardware destiné au KR4i
- Convertisseur + cable 5 m
- Logiciel
- Notices de montage et d’utilisation
- Decodeur ecran/clavier

2.1.2. KIT RÉFÉRENCE 11178165 (POUR CENTRIFUGEUR SUPPLÉMENTAIRE)

Ce kit comprend les éléments suivants :
- Boîtier communication
- Hardware destiné au KR4i
- Cable 5 m
- Notices de montage et d’utilisation

2.2. CONNEXION CENTRIFUGEURS - PC

2.2.1. CONNEXION DU PREMIER CENTRIFUGEUR

Veuillez vous reporter à la notice de montage N° 250382 livrée avec le kit réf. 11178164.

2.2.2. CONNEXION D’UN CENTRIFUGEUR SUPPLÉMENTAIRE (CENTRIFUGEUR RÉSEAU)

Veuillez vous reporter à la notice de montage N° 250383 livrée avec le kit réf. 11178165.

2.3. INSTALLATION ET CONNEXION DES LECTEURS CODE BARRES

2.3.1. CONNEXION DU LECTEUR CODE BARRES AU PC

PC éteint, débrancher la prise MINI-DIN du clavier situé sur la face arrière de l’unité centrale du PC et
brancher à la place la prise MINI-DIN mâle du câble Y.
Connecter ensuite la prise MINI-DIN mâle du clavier à la prise MINI-DIN femelle du câble Y.
Connecter enfin le connecteur SUB-D 9 du lecteur code barres (11178087) à celui du câble Y comme
indiqué sur le schéma.
NB : pour les claviers pourvus d’une fiche DIN, des adaptateur MINI-DIN/DIN sont également fournis.

CONNEXION DU LECTEUR CODE BARRES

2.3.2. CONFIGURATION DU LECTEUR CODE BARRES PC

Pour que lecteur code barres PC ainsi branché soit configuré il est indispensable de lire les 3 codes
barres consignés dans l’annexe 2 des notices d’installation. Pour une utilisation hors de France, il est
également nécessaire de lire les 3 codes barre consignés dans l’annexe 3, en selectionnant le pays en
fonction du type de clavier utilisé.

2.3.3. CONNEXION DU LECTEUR CODE BARRES AU KR4i

Le lecteur codes barres se connecte sur le côté droit de la face avant du KR4i.

2.3.4. CONFIGURATION DU LECTEUR CODE BARRES KR4i

Le lecteur livré dans le Kit lecteur de code barres (11178087) est configuré par défaut en mode RS232,
c’est à dire pour une utilisation sur le KR4i.

2.3.5. DESCRIPTION ET UTILISATION DES DIFFERENTS ELEMENTS

Lecteur de codes barres

Par défaut le lecteur codes barres est configuré pour être utilisé sur le centrifugeur. Pour une utilisation
sur le PC, changer la configuration à l’aide de l’annexe 2 et de l’annexe 3 des notices d’installation (sauf
pour la France).

50 étiquettes
Ce jeu de 50 étiquettes est fourni avec le lecteur. Les étiquetttes sont à placer sur les paniers pour leur
identification.

Plaques magnétiques adhésives

Ces plaques peuvent être mises sous le lecteur à la place des bandes velcros. Ceci permet de fixer le
lecteur directement sur la structure du KR4i.

2.4. INSTALLATION DU LOGICIEL

Pour les spécifications du PC, se référer aux recommandations données dans le chapitre 3.

2.4.1. CONFIGURATION DU PC
Windows 3.1 : Dans “Accessoires” ouvrir “Panneau de Configuration” et sélectionner le nombre de pixels
(1024 X 768).
Windows 95 :
- Cliquer sur l’icône Poste de travail,
- Cliquer sur l’icône Panneau de Configuration,
- Cliquer sur l’icône Affichage,
- Dans le cadre Propriétés de Affichage, sélectionner le menu Configuration,
- Sélectionner dans le cadre Espace Bureau 1024 x 768 pixels,
- Cliquer sur “OK”.
N.B : à cette étape une fenêtre de dialogue peut suggérer de redémarrer votre ordinateur pour que les
changements soient effectifs (cliquer sur “oui”).

2.4.2. INSTALLATION
3 disquettes sont nécessaires. Insérer la disquette n°1 dans le lecteur A du PC
Windows 3.1 : Dans Gestionnaire de Programme, sélectionner le lecteur A et le Programme concerné
(SETUP.EXE).
Windows 95/98 : Dans le poste de travail, cliquer sur Disquette 3 1/2 (A:) puis sur l’icône SETUP.EXE.
N.B : par défaut l’installation du logiciel se fera sur le disque dur C et créera un nouveau repertoire
appelé BB_CQCS.
Lorsque le contenu de la disquette n° 1 est installé, insérer la seconde puis la troisième lorsque cela est
indiqué à l’écran.
Une fois le logiciel installé, l’écran “BB-CQCS Registration” apparaît pour la saisie des identités de
l’utilisateur et du centre de transfusion.
- Cliquer sur la case Utilisateur et entrer votre nom.
- Cliquer sur la case Laboratoire et entrer le nom de la société ou du laboratoire;
- Cliquer sur “OK” pour confirmer et sortir.

Vous devez entrer à ce niveau votre Mot de Passe et le confirmer;

3 SPECIFICATIONS

3.1. SPÉCIFICATIONS PC

- Personal Computer (PC).

- Processeur 486 DX ou Pentium.
- Disque dur (50 Mo pour fonctionnement / 1 Go et plus pour le stockage des informations).
- Port com disponible (liaison série RS232 avec connecteur SUB-D 9 points mâle).
- 16 Mb RAM.
- Entrée clavier sur connecteur DIN ou MINI-DIN.
- Ecran S VGA ou X VGA 1024 x 768 impératif.
- Configuration du PC sous Windows 3.1 ou 95 et futures.

3.2. SPÉCIFICATIONS CONNEXION

- Câble 4 conducteurs : 2 paires torsadées blindées (blindage par tresse) Jauge 24 (section 0,22) 50pF/m.
Impédance nominale 120 Ω.
- Les capots pour connecteurs SUB-D 9 points doivent être métalliques pour blindage EMI/RFI avec
reprise de tresse (le capot métallique permet la réalisation d’un blindage sur la liaison par continuité
électrique entre la masse d’un châssis et la tresse du câble).

4 PRINCIPE DE FONCTIONNEMENT

Ce produit est destiné à contrôler les paramètres de centrifugation programmés et observés sur un
centrifugeur KR4i.
Les paramètres de centrifugation sont transmis du centrifugeur vers un PC via une connexion RS 485. A
tout instant l’opérateur peut visualiser sur le PC les paramètres du programme affichés sur le
centrifugeur.
Il permet également la traçabilité des échantillons (poches de sang) par l’intermédiaire d’un système de
double lecture codes barres. Cette identification se décompose en 2 principales étapes.

1ère étape : Association Poches - Paniers

Cette étape concerne l’identification des paniers et des poches de sang avec le lecteur code barres situé
sur le PC.

2ème étape : Association Paniers - Centrifugeurs

Cette étape concerne l’identification des paniers à insérer avec le lecteur code barres du centrifugeur.
Cette étape se déroule lorsque les paniers sont remplis, équilibrés et prêts à charger dans le centrifugeur.

5 INSTRUCTIONS D’UTILISATION

5.1. OPÉRATIONS PRÉLIMINAIRES

- Vérifier que les connexions de vos centrifugeurs, des lecteurs code barres et de l’ordinateur ont été
réalisées conformément au chapître 2.
- Vérifier que l’opération de configuration des lecteurs code barres a été réalisée correctement.
- Avec chaque kit, est livré un jeu de 50 étiquettes. Coller l’étiquette sur chaque panier.

5.2. CONFIGURATION DU LOGICIEL

- Pour accéder à l’écran “BB-CQCS Configuration” cliquer sur “CONFIGURE”.

- L’accès à cet écran est protégé par un mot de passe.
(Pour revenir à l’écran de démarrage du BB-CQCS, cliquer sur “EXIT” (Sortir).)

5.2.1. CONFIGURATION DE LA CONNEXION

Au niveau du cadre Configuration du Port Série :
- Sélectionner le numéro du Port Série de votre connexion (COM 1 à COM 4) (COM 1 s’affiche par défaut).
- Sélectionner le nombre de Bauds 4800 ou 9600 pour votre connexion (9600 s’affiche par défaut).
- Les autres paramètres (Parité, Stop bits et Modbus Mode) ne sont pas modifiables.
N.B : En cas de message d’alarme “ATTENTION COM x inaccessible”, contrôler le numéro de port utilisé
et changer son numéro au niveau de l’ecran “BB-CQCS Configuration”. Si l’alarme persiste, cliquer sur
“EXIT” (Sortir).

5.2.2. IDENTIFICATION DU LABORATOIRE (LABORATORY ID)

Au niveau du cadre “Laboratory ID” (Identité du Laboratoire), cliquer sur “Create / Modify ID” (Créer /
Modifier ID) afin de rentrer l’identification du laboratoire.
A gauche de l’écran au niveau du cadre “Complete laboratory ID” (Identité complète du Laboratoire)
pour le compte rendu du cycle, entrer l’identité complète du laboratoire utilisateur (10 lignes max. à votre
disposition).
Au niveau du cadre “Short laboratory ID” (Identité abrégée du Laboratoire), vous pouvez entrer l’identité
abrégée de ce laboratoire qui apparaîtra dans la partie supérieure de chaque écran.
Pour retourner à l’écran BB-CQCS Configuration, cliquer sur “EXIT” (Sortir).

5.2.3. IDENTIFICATION DU PERSONNEL

Au niveau du cadre “Lab. Staff ID # List” (Liste et identité du personnel) pour inscrire ou effacer les noms
du personnel du laboratoire, cliquer sur “ADD/DELETE member” (Ajouter/Eliminer). On accède alors à
l’écran “Staff Registration” (Enregistrement du personnel).

Pour ajouter le nom d’un utilisateur :

- Cliquer sur “Operator Name” (nom de l’opérateur) et entrer le nom
- Cliquer sur “ADD” (Ajouter) pour valider sa création ; le nouveau nom apparaît alors au niveau de la
liste du personnel à gauche de l’écran. Un numéro est attribué aléatoirement ou peut être choisi en
cliquant au niveau du cadre “Operator ID#” (Opérateur ID) sur la touche .
- Au niveau du cadre “Lab. Staff ID # List” (Liste d’identification du personnel), on peut visualiser ces
numéros ID en cliquant sur “SHOW ID” (Voir ID) ou les cacher en cliquant sur “HIDE ID” (Masquer ID).

Pour éliminer le nom d’un utilisateur :

- Sélectionner le nom de l’utilisateur à effacer en le sélectionnant au niveau du cadre Liste D’identification
du personnel.
- Cliquer sur “DELETE” (Supprimer) pour l’effacer.

Pour remplacer un nom d’utilisateur par un nouveau nom :

- En cas de double attribution d’un numéro d’identification, une boîte de dialogue apparaîtra.
Vous pourrez alors choisir de substituer l’ancien nom par le nouveau ou bien annuler cette opération.
- Cette démarche peut servir lorsque l’on veut remplacer un nom sous un numéro d’identification par un
nouveau nom.
Cliquer sur “EXIT” (Sortir) pour quitter l’écran Enregistrement du Personnel et revenir sur l’écran
BB-CQCS Configuration.

5.2.4. IDENTIFICATION DES PROGRAMMES

Au niveau du cadre “Prog. Name List” (Liste des noms de programmes) pour inscrire ou effacer les noms
des programmes d’un centrifugeur, cliquer sur “Add/delete Name” (Ajouter/eliminer). On accède alors à
l’écran “Prog. Name Registration” (Enregistrement des noms de programme).

Sélection du centrifugeur :
Pour visualiser les programmes enregistrés dans un centrifugeur, il est nécessaire de le sélectionner en
cliquant sur les cases “up/down”(monter et descendre) Centrifuge ID#.

Pour ajouter un programme :

- Sélectionner le numéro ID du centrifugeur afin de visualiser les programmes existants.
- Cliquer sur “ADD/DELETE Name” (Ajouter/Eliminer un nom) pour ajouter un nouveau programme.
- Sélectionner le numéro ID du centrifugeur concerné par la création.
- Cliquer sur la case “Prog. Name” (Nom du programme) et inscrire le nom du programme à créer.
- Cliquer sur “ADD” (Ajouter) le nom du programme ainsi qu’un numéro incrémenté automatiquement
apparaît au niveau du cadre “Prog. Name List” (Liste des noms de programmes). Ce numéro peut être
changé en cliquant sur les touches “up/down Prog ID#” (monter et descendre) à gauche de la fenêtre
de saisie.
- Cliquer sur “EXIT” (Sortir) pour revenir au menu BB-CQCS Configuration.

Pour effacer un programme :

- Sélectionner le numéro ID du centrifugeur afin de visualiser les programmes existants.
- Cliquer sur “ADD/DELETE Name” (Ajouter/Eliminer) pour effacer un programme.
- Sélectionner le numéro ID du centrifugeur concerné par la création.
- Sélectionner, au niveau de la liste, le programme à effacer.
- Cliquer sur “DELETE” (Effacer) pour confirmer.
- Pour revenir à l’écran BB-CQCS Configuration, cliquer sur “EXIT” (Sortir).

5.2.5. CHOIX D’UN CENTRIFUGEUR CONNECTÉ AU RÉSEAU

Ajouter ou supprimer un centrifugeur au réseau :
- Dans le cadre Centrifuge Network, cliquer sur Add/Delete Centrifuge (Ajout/Suppression) pour accéder
à l’écran Centrifuge Network (Réseau Centrifugeurs).
- La touche “EXIT” (Sortir) vous ramène sur l’écran BB-CQCS Configuration.
Tout centrifugeur connecté au réseau est affiché au niveau de l’écran “ACTIVITY REPORT” (Poste de
Contrôle).

En cliquant sur les cases au centre des centrifugeurs vous ajoutez ou supprimez ceux-ci du réseau (case
rouge : connecté ou activé ; case blanche : déconnecté ou désactivé).
Vous pouvez travailler jusqu’à 32 centrifugeurs connectés en série sur votre réseau et les visualiser
depuis l’écran “ACTIVITY REPORT” (Poste de Contrôle).

N.B : les chiffres, de 1 à 32, indiqués sur les centrifugeurs représente le numéro de l’adresse de leur carte
communication. Si vous ne connectez qu’un seul centrifugeur, par défaut il sera toujours configuré à
l’adresse 1. Si vous connectez au moins 2 centrifugeurs, c’est lors de l’installation que le technicien
configure l’adresse de vos centrifugeurs et doit vous en informer afin de pouvoir les sélectionner
correctement au niveau de cet écran.

5.2.6. SECURISATION DE LA CHAINE D’AQUISITION DES CODES A BARRE

A partir de la version V3.02 du BB-CQCS, il est possible d’accroitre la “sécurisation” de la chaine
d’aquisition des codes à barres (suivant recommandation N° 9727 de l’EFS). Pour celà au niveau du menu
Configuration, cliquer sur “Bar Codes Checking” et selectionner “EFS 9727”.

5.3. UTILISATION DU LOGICIEL

5.3.1. ECRAN ACTIVITY REPORT (POSTE DE CONTROLE)

- A partir de l’écran de Démarrage, cliquer sur “RUN” (CYCLE) pour accéder à l’écran “Activity Report”
(Poste de contrôle).
- La touche “EXIT” (SORTIR) vous ramène à l’écran de Démarrage.

Comment utiliser cet écran ?

Cet écran permet de visualiser simultanément les paramètres envoyés par les centrifugeurs : de gauche
à droite le N° d’identification du centrifugeur attribué par sa carte communication (ID #), son N° de série
(serial#), le programme sélectionné (Prog.), l’état du cycle (Run Status), la Vitesse ou la FCR (Speed or
RCF), le Temps ou l’Intégrale (Timer or Integral), la température (Temp.)
- En mode stand-by (attente), les paramètres affichés sont les paramètres du cycle programmés sur le
KR4i par l’opérateur et affichés sur l’écran du centrifugeur.
- En mode Running (cycle), les paramètres affichés sont les paramètres en temps réel du cycle en cours.
Le temps affiché est un décompte du temps restant avant la décélération du centrifugeur.
La date et l’heure sont visibles en haut de l’écran.
Il est possible de visualiser 11 centrifugeurs au maximum sur le même écran.

La touche SCROLL :
Lorsque vous avez plus de 11 centrifugeurs connectés sur le réseau, cette touche vous permet de les
visualiser. Une fois le dernier centrifugeur affiché, un nouveau clic vous ramènera aux premiers.
N.B : Si vous constatez que le nombre de centrifugeurs affiché à l’écran n’est pas conforme à celui que
vous attendiez, vérifiez en premier lieu dans l’écran “Centrifuge Network” (réseau centrifugeurs),
accessible par l’écran BB-CQCS Configuration, que ceux-ci ont bien été activés.
Si le problème persiste contacter le technicien en charge de l’installation.

L’Auto Save :
L’activation de cette fonction vous permet la sauvegarde automatique sur le disque dur des données en fin
de cycle. Par défaut, elle sera toujours activée. Cliquer sur l’icône de la colonne pour l’activer ou la
désactiver (ON = activé ou OFF = désactivé).
Les données ainsi sauvegardées pourront être consultées à partir de l’écran “Research” (Recherche).
ATTENTION ! : L’inactivation de cette fonction pour un cycle de centrifugation est protégé par un mot de
passe et conduit à la perte définitive des données rattachées à ce cycle.

L’Auto Print :
Cette fonction, lorsque elle est activée, permet l’impression automatique des données en fin de cycle. Le
rapport imprimé contiendra l’ensemble des informations de l’écran “Run details” (Détails Cycle).
Par défaut elle sera toujours désactivée.
Cliquer sur l’icône de la colonne pour l’activer ou la désactiver (ON = activé ou OFF = désactivé).

La touche MORE (PLUS) :

Cette touche vous permet d’accéder à l’écran “Run details” (Détails cycle) du centrifugeur sélectionné.

5.3.2. L’ÉCRAN “RUN DETAILS” (DÉTAILS CYCLE)

Accessible à partir de l’écran “Activity Report” (Poste de contrôle) en cliquant sur la touche “MORE”
(PLUS) du centrifugeur de votre choix.
La touche “EXIT” vous ramène à l’écran Poste de contrôle.
C’est un outil complémentaire au Poste de contrôle.

A la fin de chaque cycle :

- En bas à droite de l’écran apparaîtra la courbe de centrifugation du cycle (vitesse tr/min. et température
en fonction du temps).
- Possibilité d’imprimer un rapport de cycle regroupant l’ensemble de ces données lorsque la fonction
AUTO PRINT est activée.
- Possibilité de consulter ultérieurement l’ensemble de ces données au niveau de l’écran “Research”
(Recherche) lorsque la fonction AUTO SAVE est activée.

5.3.3. ECRAN ENREGISTREMENT POCHES

A partir de l’écran Poste de contrôle, cliquer sur “BAG INFO” (Info poche) pour accéder à l’écran “Bag
Registration” (Enregistrement Poches).

La touche “EXIT” (Sortir) vous ramène sur le Poste de contrôle.

Les étapes de l’enregistrement des Paniers et Poches :
- Première étape, la lecture du code barres d’un Panier.
- Deuxième étape, la lecture des codes barres des poches (au maximum 6) qui seront associées au
panier précédemment lu.
A chaque lecture d’un code barres poche le chiffre en bout de ligne s’incrémentera de 1 en 1 jusqu’à six.
N.B : Ne pas oublier de coller les étiquettes et sur-étiquettes sur chaque panier avant cette étape

Validation Panier - Poches :

La validation de l’association Panier - Poches se fait par resaisie du code du panier à l’aide du lecteur de
codes à barre.

La touche “DELETE” (effacer) :

Permet la suppression de la saisie d’un panier et des poches qui lui étaient associées. Pour cela,
sélectionner à l’aide de la souris le panier à effacer du menu et appuyer sur la touche “DELETE” (effacer).
Le panier ainsi que les poches qui lui étaient associées disparaîtront du menu.

5.3.4. ECRAN SEARCH

A partir de l’écran Démarrage ou Poste de contrôle, cliquer sur “SEARCH” (Recherche) pour accéder à
l’écran “SEARCH” (Recherche).

La touche “EXIT” vous ramène à l’écran par lequel vous êtes entré.

Un écran pour la traçabilité :

Les informations et données rattachées à un cycle seront accessibles au niveau de cet écran si la fonction
AUTO SAVE était activée lors de ce cycle. Dans le cas contraire, la recherche indiquera “FILE NOT
FOUND”.
Les données et paramètres consignés sur cet écran sont identiques à ceux visualisés sur l’écran “Run
Details” (Détails des paramètres).

Les modes de recherche :

1) Recherche des cycles d’une poche par la date :
Dans la partie supérieure de l’écran, choisir avec le pavé + / - ou par saisie direct dans les cases; le jour,
le mois, l’année, l’identité du Centrifugeur (N°) et le numéro du cycle (“Cycle N°”). Une fois ce choix
réalisé, les paramètres du cycle sont affichés. Si la recherche n’aboutit pas le message “FILE NOT
FOUND” sera affiché.
Cet écran permet egalement la visualisation de la courbe de la vitesse de rotation et de la température en
fonction du temps.
Pour imprimer ce rapport, cliquer sur la case PRINT REPORT.

2) Recherche des cycles d’une poche par son code barres :

Cliquer dans la case blood bag barcode (code barres poche de sang) et lire le code barres de la poche
recherchée à l’aide du lecteur. 3 cas de figure peuvent se présenter :
- Le message FILE NOT FOUND apparaît ce qui peut signifier que soit l’AUTO-SAVE était inactif lors de
son ou ses cycle(s), soit que cette poche n’a effectué aucun cycle.
- La poche cherchée est trouvée sans apparition de la touche NEXT au dessus de la case.
- La poche cherchée est trouvée avec apparition de la touche NEXT signifiant qu’elle a subit d’autres
cycles ; lesquels sont visualisables en cliquant sur la touche NEXT.

5.3.5. PRINCIPE DE FONCTIONNEMENT

Grâce au double système de lecture code barres, le BB-CQCS permet d’assurer la traçabilité des poches
de sang au cours de la centrifugation.

1ère étape : Identification des paniers et poches de sang avec le lecteur code barres PC
Au niveau de l’écran “BAG REGISTRATION” : Association Poches - paniers (se reporter au paragraphe
5.3.3. pour la saisie des codes barres).

2ème étape : Identification des paniers à insérer à l’intérieur du centrifugeur avec le lecteur code

Cette étape concerne l'identification des supports (Paniers), à insérer, avec le lecteur code à barres du
centrifugeur. Cette étape se déroule lorsque les supports d'échantillons sont remplis, équilibrés et prêts à
charger dans le centrifugeur.
Pour activer cette option, sélectionner CONFIG dans le menu de veille. Choisir BB-CQCS, affiché en
inverse vidéo, et valider en appuyant sur "ENTREE".

+ Si nécessaire, saisir le code d'identification Opérateur à l'aide du clavier. Valider en appuyant sur
"ENTREE" ou Annuler en appuyant sur "ECHAP".

+ Pour identifier les paniers à centrifuger, utiliser le lecteur code à barres du centrifugeur. Saisir avec
celui-ci le code d'identification du premier support et valider en appuyant sur "ENTREE" et ainsi de suite
jusqu'au dernier support (6 au maximum sur version V3.00).

+ Sélectionner "DEPART" pour lancer la centrifugation.

5.4. PROCEDURE DE SAUVEGARDE/ARCHIVAGE

5.4.1. DÉMARCHE GÉNÉRALE

Il s’agit de réaliser des sauvegardes régulières des fichiers de données de BB-CQCS.
Ces enregistrements doivent être effectués sur un support matériellement indépendant du poste sur
lequel est installé BB-CQCS (CD, disque réseau, cartouche ZIP). Le choix de ce support est de la
responsabilité de l’utilisateur.
Il convient de distinguer l’opération de sauvegarde de l’archivage :
- La sauvegarde : de préférence journalière, elle peut être faite sur un support unique réutilisé à chaque
itération, son but étant de mémoriser l’état du système tel qu’il était la veille.
- L’archivage : de préférence hebdomadaire, il doit être effectué sur un support qui, lui, sera conservé
sans limitation de durée.
En cas de dysfonctionnement entraînant une perte de données, les fichiers peuvent être restaurés à partir
des fichiers de sauvegarde ou d’archives les plus récents.

5.4.2. PROCÉDURE DE SAUVEGARDE

1) Arréter et sortir du logiciel BB-CQCS
2) Ouvrir l’explorateur Windows en cliquant sur démarrer puis en sélectionnant <programme> et
<explorateur>

3) Ouvrir le dossier <C :\BB_CQCS>

4) A l’aide de la souris, faire glisser le répertoire <CONFIG> vers l’enregistreur, (un lecteur de disquette
dans l’exemple).

5) Durant la copie, vous obtenez l’affichage suivant :

Attendre la disparition de cette fenêtre.

Répéter les étapes 3, 4, 5 pour le dossier C:\SAVERUN (au lieu de C:\BB_CQCS\CONFIG)
La sauvegarde est terminée.

5.4.3. PROCÉDURE D’ARCHIVAGE

Effectuer la même opération, mais sur un support stocké sans limitation de durée. Il peut être judicieux de
réaliser cette archive en double exemplaire, et de conserver les deux supports à deux endroits différents.

5.4.4. PROCÉDURE DE RESTITUTION

1) Arréter et sortir de BB-CQCS
2) Ouvrir l’explorateur Windows en cliquant sur <démarrer> puis en sélectionnant <programme> et
<explorateur> (cf. procédure de sauvegarde).
3) Ouvrir, par un double click de sourie, le lecteur dans lequel est inséré le support de sauvegarde ou
d’archives (ici un lecteur de disquettes).

4) Sélectionner le repertoire <Config> et le faire glisser vers le repertoire BB_CQCS.

5) Vous obtenez l’affichage suivant :

Répondre "Tous"
6) Attendre la disparition de la fenêtre suivante.

Répéter les étapes 3, 4, 5, 6, pour le dossier C:\SAVERUN (i.e. copier X:\SAVERUN vers C:\SAVERUN, X
représentant le lecteur de sauvegarde).
La restitution est terminée, le système BB-CQCS est tel qu’il était au moment de la sauvegarde ou de
l’archivage.

6 RISQUES, PRECAUTIONS, LIMITATIONS D’USAGE

6.1. CONTRAT DE LICENCE D’UTILISATION DU LOGICIEL BB-CQCS

Le présent document définit les termes et conditions dans lesquels l’utilisateur final (Ci-après désigné “le
Client”) pourra utiliser le logiciel BB-CQCS (ci-après désigné “le Logiciel”), propriété de JOUAN (ci-après
désignée “JOUAN”). En faisant acquisition d’un exemplaire du Logiciel, le client s’engage expressément à
respecter les termes du présent Accord qui le lie à JOUAN.

Article 1 - Licence
L’acquisition par le Client d’un exemplaire du programme du logiciel confère au Client, tant qu’il en aura
l’utilisation, le droit limité, non exclusif et non-transférable d’utiliser le Logiciel sur un seul terminal, relié à
un seul ordinateur, à l’exclusion de tout autre droit. En particulier, le paiement du prix et l’ouverture de
l’emballage scellé ne confèrent au Client aucun droit de propriété sur le Logiciel, mais seulement le droit
de l’utiliser conformément aux termes et conditions du présent Accord.

Article 2 - Propriété
JOUAN est seul titulaire de l’intégralité des droits d’auteur (loi du 1er juillet 1992) sur le Logiciel, ainsi que
sur toute copie qui pourrait être autorisée dans le cadre de la présente licence. Le client est informé que
ces droits d’auteur représentent une valeur pécuniaire importante. Le Client n’est autorisé à réaliser une
copie du Logiciel qu’à des fins de sauvegarde ou d’archivage, ou à transférer le Logiciel sur un support
unique à condition de conserver l’original à des fins de sauvegarde ou d’archivage. Le prêt, la location ou
le transfert du Logiciel à un autre utilisateur est interdit. Toute duplication de la documentation ou des
manuels accompagnant le logiciel est interdite. Le Client s’interdit d’apporter quelque modification que ce
soit au Logiciel, et/ou de l’intégrer dans un autre produit informatique.

Article 3 - Durée
Les obligations résultant de l’octroi de la licence prennent effet à compter de l’ouverture de l’emballage
scellé contenant les disquettes. Ces obligations resteront en vigueur aussi longtemps que le client utilisera
le Logiciel. Le droit d’utiliser le Logiciel cessera automatiquement et de plein droit en cas de manquement
de la part du Client à l’une quelconque des obligations lui incombant en vertu du présent Accord.
Le Client s’oblige, ce qui constitue une condition déterminante de l’octroi de la Licence, au cas où il
cesserait d’utiliser le Logiciel, pour quelque cause que ce soit, y compris par suite de la perte du droit
d’usage de son fait, à détruire immédiatement toutes disquettes et/ou supports quelconques du Logiciel en
sa possession, ainsi que toutes copies qu’il aurait pu en établir.

Article 4 - Garantie et responsabilité

4-1 Le Client sera seul responsable du choix du matériel informatique nécessaire au fonctionnement du
Logiciel et de la configuration informatique. JOUAN n’offre aucune garantie quant à l’adéquation ou à
la puissance du matériel informatique nécessaire au fonctionnement du Logiciel.
4-2 JOUAN garantit que le Logiciel répond substantiellement aux fonctionnalités spécifiées dans le
descriptif joint au Logiciel en vigueur à la date d’acquisition du logiciel, et pour l’environnement
dans lequel il a été prévu.
Au cas où le Logiciel ne remplirait pas les fonctionnalités prévues, JOUAN s’oblige, à son choix, soit
à remplacer, soit à modifier le Logiciel qui aurait été reconnu défectueux par JOUAN , soit à
rembourser au Client son prix d’acquisition, à l’exclusion de toute autre garantie. Le Client devra
informer JOUAN de tout défaut susceptible de faire jouer la garantie dès la constatation de ce défaut,
et au plus tard dans les 48 heures suivant la manifestation de ce défaut. Si ce délai n’était pas
respecté, la garantie serait caduque.

La garantie ci-dessus ne jouera pas :

- en cas de modification de l’environnement pour lequel le Logiciel a été prévu, indépendant de la
volonté de JOUAN,
- en cas d’utilisation non conforme au manuel d’utilisation du Logiciel.
De même JOUAN ne sera pas responsable des anomalies et/ou défauts pouvant affecter le Logiciel,
causés par des altérations ou modifications du Logiciel, ni des défauts résultant d’un mauvais
fonctionnement de l’équipement du Client ou dûs à l’utilisation d’autres produits logiciels non
fournis par JOUAN.
4-3 La présente garantie est valable pour une durée de un an à compter de la date d’acquisition de
l’exemplaire du Logiciel.
4-4 JOUAN ne garantit pas que le Logiciel fonctionnera sans erreur ou qu’il peut être utilisé d’une
quelconque autre façon que celle décrite dans la documentation. JOUAN ne donne aucune garantie
quant aux résultats que le Client pourrait obtenir en utilisant le Logiciel et quant à l’aptitude du
Logiciel de permettre au Client d’atteindre un but précis.
4-5 JOUAN ne saurait en aucun cas être tenu responsable de quelque dommage que ce soit, direct ou
indirect, causé à l’utilisateur ou à un tiers, et notamment, perte d’exploitation.
4-6 En raison de l’évolution technologique constante en matière informatique et de logiciel, JOUAN peut
être amenée à développer et commercialiser soit de nouvelles versions du Logiciel, soit de
nouveaux logiciels ayant des caractéristiques et des fonctionnalités similaires à celles du Logiciel
actuel. La présente garantie ne pourra en aucun cas être invoquée pour obtenir la fourniture de
versions plus récentes du Logiciel ou de nouveaux logiciels.

6.2. RISQUES, PRECAUTIONS ET LIMITATIONS D’USAGE LIES AU CENTRIFUGEUR

1 USE AND FUNCTION

1.1 DESCRIPTION

The BB-CQCS software is a Quality Control Systeme dedicated to the Centrifugation.

The BB-CQCS (Blood Bank - Centrifugation Quality Control System), designed to optimise and facilitate the
tracking of production during the centrifugation, is a veritable Quality Control System.
It ensures the traceability of the treatment of the sample (traceability), the process, the centrifuge, the
products and the operators.

1.2 FUNCTIONS

With the connection of up to 32 centrifuges, it is possible to transfer onto one P.C. all of the informations
relatives to the centrifugation cycle.
This system allows all the following data to be stored and visualised in real time on a P.C. and to be printed
out.
Principal Data :
- Date and time
- Centrifuge ID (identity number, serial number)
- Centrifugation program
- Live centrifugation parameters - speed or RCF, time or integral, temperature, status.
Detailed Information :

2 INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

2.1 MOUNTING THE KITS

There are several kit references ; for each of them, refer to the fitting manual (manuals 250382 and
250383)

2.1.1 11178164 KIT (BB-CQCS KIT FOR THE FIRST KR4i CENTRIFUGE)
This kit contains the following items :

2.2. CENTRIFUGE - P.C. CONNECTION

2.2.1. FIRST CENTRIFUGE CONNECTION

Please refer to the instruction manual N° 250382 supplied with kit n° 11178164.

2.2.2. CONNECTION OF AN ADDITIONAL CENTRIFUGE (NETWORK CENTRIFUGE)

Please refer to the instruction manual N° 250383 supplied with kit n° 11178165.

2.3. INSTALLATION AND CONNECTION OF BAR CODE READERS

2.3.1. CONNECTION OF THE BAR CODE READER TO THE PC

With the PC switched off, disconnect the MINI-DIN plug of the keyboard which is connected on the rear of
the PC central unit and in its place connect the MINI DIN male plug of the Y cable.
Then connect the male MINI DIN plug from the keyboard to the female MINI-DIN plug of the Y cable.
Lastly, connect the SUB-D 9 connector of the bar code reader (11178087) to that of the Y cable as indicated
in the drawing.
NOTE : MINI DIN adapters are supplied for keyboards without a DIN plug.

CONNECTION OF THE BARCODE READER TO THE PC

2.3.2. CONFIGURATION OF THE BAR CODE READER

It is essential to read the three bar-codes provided in Appendix 2 of the installation manual in order that
the installed PC bar code reader just connected will be configured correctly. For users outside France, it is
also necessary to read the three bar-codes provided in Appendix 3, choosing the country according to the
type of keyboard.

2.3.3. CONNECTION OF THE BAR CODE READER TO THE KR4i

The bar code reader is connected to the KR4i on the right hand side of the front panel.

2.3.4. CONFIGURATION OF THE KR4i BAR CODE READER

The reader supplied in the bar code reader kit (11178087) is configured by default in mode RS232, that is
to say for single KR4i use.

2.3.5. DESCRIPTION AND USE OF THE DIFFERENT ELEMENTS

Bar code reader

By default, the bar code reader is confugured to be used on the centrifuge. For using it with the PC,
change the configuration using Appendix 2 and Appedix 3 (except for France) of the installation manual.

50 stickers
This set of 50 stickers is supplied with the reader. The stickers are to be stuck on the liners, to identify
them.

Adhesive magnetic plates

These plates are to be stuck under the reader in place of the velcro bands. They permit the reader to be
mounted directly on the KR4i.

2.4. INSTALLATION OF THE BB-CQCS SOFTWARE

See chapter 3 for PC specifications.

2.4.1. CONFIGURATION OF THE PC DISPLAY

Window 3.1 : In “Accessories” open “Configuration Panel” and select the number of pixels (1024 x 768).
Windows 95 :
- Click on the Workstation icon,
- Click on Configuration Panel icon,
- Click on Display icon,
- In the Display Properties box select the Configuration menu,
- Now select 1024 x 768 pixels,
- Click on “OK”.
NOTE : At this stage a dialogue box may appear to suggest restarting your computer in order that the
changes take effect (Click on “YES”).

2.4.2. INSTALLATION
Three diskettes are necessary. Insert diskette N° 1 in the A drive of the PC.
For Windows 95/98 : In the work station click on diskette 3 1/2 (A :) then on the SET UP icon.
For Windows 3.1 : In the Program Manager select drive A and the program concerned (BB-CQCS SET UP)
NOTE : By default the software will be installed on the hard disk C and will create a new folder called :
“BB_CQCS”.
When the contents of diskette N° 1 have been installed insert the second disk then the third when
requested on screen.
Once the software has been installed the screen “BB-CQCS Registration” appears for entering the
identities of the user and the transfusion centre.
- Click on the user box and enter your name.
- Click on the Laboratory box and enter the name of the company or laboratory.
- Click on OK to confirm, then exit

At this level you must enter your password and confirm it.
The “BB-CQCS Configuration” screen appears.

3 SPECIFICATIONS

3.1. P.C. MINIMUM SPECIFICATION

- Personal Computer (PC).

- 486 DX processor or Pentium.
- 2 Gb hard disk.
- DB-9 male serial port.
- 16 Mb RAM.
- DIN or MINI DIN plug on the keyboard.
- S-VGA or X-VGA (1024 x 768 screen).
- PC configured with Windows 3.1, 95 or later versions.

3.2. CONNECTIONS

- Cable : 4 wires : 2 pairs of wires (twisted and shielded), gauge 24 (section 0.22 mm) 50 pF/m. Rated
impedance 120 Ω.
- Caps for SUB-D 9 pts connectors have to be metallic for EMI/RFI shielding, with tress contact (the
metallic cap allows the realisation of a shield on the serial link, by electrical conduction between the
frame ground and the cable tress).

4 OPERATING PRINCIPLES

This product is designed to check centrifugation parameters programmed and observed on a KR4i
centrifuge.
Centrifugation parameters are transfered from the centrifuge to a PC via an RS 485 connection. At any time
the operator can check on the PC program parameters on the screen of the centrifuge.
Thanks to a double bar code reader system, the BB-CQCS ensures the traceability of the blood bags. This
identification is divided in two principal stages.

1st stage : Association bag-liner

This stage concerns the identification of liners and bags with the bar code reader of the PC

2nd stage : Association liner-centrifuge

This stage concerns the identification of the liner at the stage of loading the liners into the centrifuge with
the bar code reader. This stage takes place when the liners are filled up, balanced and ready for loading
in the centrifuge.

5 INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE

5.1. PRELIMINARY OPERATION

- Check that centrifuges, bar code readers, and PC connections have been done in conformity with
chapter 2.
- Check that the configuration operation of the bar code readers has been done correctly.
- A set of 50 labels is supplied with each kit. Stick the label on the side of each liner.

5.2. SOFTWARE CONFIGURATION

- To access the “BB-CQCS Configuration” screen, click on “CONFIGURE”.

- The access to this screen is protected by a password.
(Click on EXIT to return to the initial screen of BB-CQCS.)

5.2.1. CENTRIFUGATION CONNECTION

On the configuration screen of the serial port :
- Select the serial port number of the connection (COM 1 to COM 4) (it is preset to COM 1).
- Select the number of Bauds 4800 or 9600 for your connection (it is preset to 9600).
- The others parameters (Parity, Stop bits and Modbus Mode) can not be changed
NOTE : If there is a alarm message “BEWARE COM x inaccessible“, check the serial port number used
and change it on the “CONFIGURATION“ screen. If the alarm persists, click on “EXIT“.

5.2.2. LABORATORY IDENTIFICATION

On the screen “BB-CQCS Confuration” in the “Laboratory ID” window, click on “Create/Modify ID” to
input the laboratory identification.
On the left of the screen, there is “Complete laboratory ID” for the run report. Enter complete user
laboratory identity (10 lines max at your disposal).
On the “Short laboratory ID” window, you can enter the short laboratory identity which will appear on the
upper part of each screen.
Click on EXIT to return to the “CONFIGURATION” screen.

5.2.3. STAFF IDENTIFICATION

On the “Lab. Staff ID # List” window to input or delete laboratory staff names, click on “Add/Delete
Member” to access on the “Staff Registration” screen.

To add an operator name :

- Click on “Operator Name” and enter the name
- Click on “ADD” to confirm its creation ; the new name then appears in the staff list at the left of the
screen. A number is randomly given or can be chosen by clicking in the “Operator ID #” window on the
Up/Down arrows or by highlighting the suggested number and overwriting with the preferred number.
- In “Lab. Staff ID # List” window, these ID numbers can be seen by clicking on “SHOW ID #” or hiding
them by clicking on “HIDE ID #”.

To delete the name of an operator :

- Select the name of the operator to delete by selecting in the “Lab. Staff ID # List” window.
- Click on “DELETE” to delete it.

To replace an operator name by an other one :

- In case of a double assignment of an identification number, a dialogue box will appear. You will then be
able to choose between substituting the old name by the new one or annulling this operation.
- This process can be used when you want to replace a name under an identification number by a new
name.
Click on “EXIT” to quit the “Staff Registration” screen and return to the “CONFIGURATION” screen.

5.2.4. PROGRAM IDENTIFICATION

On “Prog Name List” window to enter or delete program names of a centrifuge, click on “Add/Delete
Name”, to access the “Prog. Name Registration” screen.

Centrifuge selection :
To see program recording in a specific centrifuge, it is necessary to select it by clicking on the “up/down”
arrows beside the centrifuge ID #.

To add a program. :
- Select the centrifuge ID number to see existing programs.
- Click on “ADD/DELETE Name” to add a new program.
- Select the ID number of the centrifuge concerned by the creation.
- Click on “Prog. Name” and put in the program name to create.
- Click on “ADD”, the program name and its number appears on “Prog. Name List” window. This number
can be changed by clicking on “up/down Prog ID #” keys on the left of the screen.
- Click on “EXIT” to return to the “BB-CQCS Configuration” screen.

To delete a program :
- Select the centrifuge ID number to see existing programs.
- Click on “ADD/DELETE Name” to delete a program.
- Select the centrifuge ID number concerning by the creation.
- Select the program to be deleted from the list.
- Click on “DELETE” to confirm.
- Click on “EXIT” to return on “BB-CQCS Configuration” screen.

5.2.5. CHOICE OF A CENTRIFUGE CONNECTED TO THE NETWORK

To add or suppress a centrifuge on the network :
- In the “Centrifuge Network” window, click on Add/Delete Centrifuge to access the “Centrifuge
Network” screen.
- Click on “EXIT” to return on “BB-CQCS configuration” screen.
For all centrifuges connected to the network there is listing in the “ACTIVITY REPORT” screen.

By clicking on keys at the centre of the centrifuges you add to or suppress them from the network (red
key : connected or actived ; white key : disconnected or disactived).
You can work with up to 32 centrifuges connected in series on your network and show them on the
“ACTIVITY REPORT” screen.

NOTE : The numbers, from 1 to 32, indicated on the centrifuges represent the addresses of their
communication card. If you connect only one centrifuge, it is preset to the address 1. If you connect at least
2 centrifuges during the installation, the technician must configure your centrifuge adresses and must
inform you to select them correctly on the screen.

5.2.6. SECURING THE BAR CODE ACQUISITION LINE

As from version V3.02 of BB-CQCS, it is possible to increase the security of bar code acquisition
(according to recommendation N° 9727 of the French Blood Establishment). To achieve this from the
“CONFIGURATION” screen, click on “Bar Codes Checking” and select “EFS 9727”.

5.3. USING THE SOFTWARE

1.1.1 ACTIVITY REPORT SCREEN

- From starting screen, click on “RUN” to access the “Activity Report” screen.
(Click on “EXIT” to return to the starting screen.)

How to use this screen :

This screen allows you to see, simultaneously, the parameters sent by the centrifuges : from left to right,
the centrifuge identification number given by its communication card (ID #), its serial number, its selected
program, the run status, the speed or RCF, the timer or integral and the temperature.
- In stand-by mode, the parameters on the screen are the run parameters programmed on the KR4i by the
operator and displayed on the centrifuge screen.
- In running mode, the parameters on the screen are the parameters in real time of the actual run. The
screen displays the time left before braking.
The current date and the time can be seen on the upper part of the screen.
It is possible to show 11 centrifuges maximum on the same screen.

SCROLL Key :
When you have more than 11 centrifuges connected to the network, this key allows you to see all of them.
Once the last centrifuge has been displayed, a new click returns you to the first ones.
NOTE : If you find out that the number of centrifuges displayed on the screen is not in conformity with your
expectations, check first in the “Centrifuge Network” screen, accessible by the “BB-CQCS Configuration”
screen, that they have been actived.
If the problem persists, contact the technician who has done the installation.

The Auto Save :

The activation of this function allows you to automatically record data on the hard disc at the end of the run.
It is preset to be in active form. Click on the button to activate or disactivate (ON = activated or OFF =
disactivated).
The recorded data can be consulted from the “SEARCH” screen.
BEWARE ! : The inactivation of this function for a centrifuge run is protected by a password and will lead to
the lost of its data.

The Auto Print :

This function, when it is actived, allows the automatic printing of data at the end of the run. This printed
report will contain all information from the “Run Details” screen.
It is preset to be always inactive.
Click on the button to activate or disactivate (ON = activated or OFF = disactivated).

The MORE key :

This key allows you to access the “Run Details” screen of the selected centrifuge.

5.3.2. THE “RUN DETAILS” SCREEN

Accessible from the “Activity Report” screen by clicking on the “MORE” key of the centrifuge of your
choice.
(The “EXIT” key return you to the screen control.)
This is a complementary tool of the “Activity Report” screen.

It allows all parameters to be shown in real time and simultaneously for any centrifuge connected to the
network (and displayed on the “Activity Report” screen) :

Set temperature and actual temperature (Set Temp, Actual Temp)
Identity of the selected program (# and name) (Prog. #, Prog. Name)

At the end of each run :

- At the right bottom of the screen will appear the graph of the run (speed in rpm and temperature in °C
against time).
- Possibility to print a report of the run with all data when the AUTO PRINT function is actived.
- Possibility to consult later all data on the “SEARCH” screen when the AUTO SAVE function is actived..

5.3.3. BAG REGISTRATION SCREEN

From the screen control, click on “BAG INFO” to access the “Bag Registration” screen.

(The “EXIT” key returns you to the “Activity Report” screen.)

The registration stages of the liners and bags :
- First stage, the bar code reading of a liner.
- Second stage, the bar code reading of bags (6 maximun) which will be associated with the liner just
read.
For each reading of bag bar code, the requested bar code # will increase by 1 up to six.
NOTE : Do not forget to stick labels and protective film on each liner before this step.

Liner-Bag validation :
To confirm the Liner-Bag association, read the bar code of the liner again with the bar code reader.

The “DELETE” key :

It allows the input of the liner and its associated bags to be suppressed. For this, with the mouse, select the
liner to be deleted in the menu and click on the “DELETE” key. The liner and its associated bags will
disappear from the menu.

5.3.4. SEARCH SCREEN

From the Starting screen or “Activity Report” screen, click on “SEARCH” to access the “SEARCH” screen

(The “EXIT” key returns you to the previous screen.)

A screen for traceability :

The information and data belonging to a run will be accessible on this screen if the AUTO SAVE function
was actived during this run. On the contrary, you will have “FILE NOT FOUND”.
The data and parameters given on this screen are identical with data and parameters shown on the “Run
Details” screen.

Search module :
1) Bag/Run search with the date :
In the upper part of the screen, choose with the key +/- or write directly in the cells; the day, the month, the
year, the centrifuge identity (#) and the cycle number (“run #”). Once this choice has been done, the run
parameters are displayed. If the search doesn’t succeed, the message “FILE NOT FOUND” will appear.
This screen also allows the curve of speed (in rpm) and temperature (in °C) against of time to be
displayed.
To printout this report, click on the PRINT REPORT key.

2) Search of bag/run by its bar code :

Click in the blood bag barcode key and read the bar code of the bag seached for with the bar code
reader. 3 possibilities can appear :
- The message “FILE NOT FOUND” appears which means that the AUTO-SAVE was inactive during the
run, or that this bag was never associated with any run.
- The searched for bag has been found without the NEXT key appearing above the cell.
- The searched for bag has been found with appearance of the NEXT key which means that it was also
associated with another run ; which can be shown by clicking on the NEXT key.

5.3.5. OPERATING PRINCIPLES

Via a system of two bar code readers, the BB-CQCS allows the traceability of blood bags to be ensured
during the centrifugation stage

First step : Identification of the liners and blood bags with the bar code reader connected to the PC
At “BAG REGISTRATION” screen : Association bag-liner (see § 5.3.3 for bar code reading).

This stage concerns the identification of the supports (liners) during their insertion into the centrifuge using
a bar code reader connected to the centrifuge. This stage is carried out after filling and balancing the
supports, ready to load them.
To activate this option, select CONFIG from the stand-by screen. Select BB-CQCS, using  to display it in
inverse video and press ENTER.

If necessary, enter the Operator Code (USER ID) via the keyboard (then ENTER or ESC to abort).

After the identification of the liners by the PC, identify the liners to be centrifuged by the KR4i using the bar
code reader on the centrifuge. Read the ID of the first liner then press ENTER. Continue up to the last liner
(a maximum of 6 for BB-CQCS V3.0).

Select START to start the run.

5.4. BACK-UP PROCEDURE/ARCHIVING

5.4.1. GENERAL APPROACH

This concerns regular backing-up of BB-CQCS data files.
The recording must be carried out on a support physically independent from the computer on which the
BB-CQCS is installed (CD, disk, ZIP cartridge). The choice of support is the responsibility of the user.
It is worth noting the difference between backing-up and archiving :
- Backing-up : Preferably daily, it can be done on a support which is re-used on each occasion, the
objective being to memorize the state of the system such as it was at the start of work.
- Archiving : Preferably weekly, it must be done on a single use support to be stored for an unlimited
duration.
In the case of breakdown resulting in a loss of data, the files can be restored from the most recent back-up
or archive files.

5.4.2. BACK-UP PROCEDURE

1) Shut down and quit the BB-CQCS software.
2) Open Windows Explorer by clicking on <Start> then <Programs> and then <Explorer>.

3) Open the file <C :\BB_CQCS>

4) Using the mouse, click on the <Config> folder and drag it to the recording device (for example,
disquette A).

5) During copying, you will see the following window :

Wait until this window disappears.

Repeat these steps for the folder C:\SAVERUN (instead of C:\BB_CQCS\CONFIG)
Backing-up is now finished.

5.4.3. ARCHIVING PROCEDURE

Carry out the operation as for backing-up, this time using an unlimited duration storage medium. It is
recommended to duplicate the archive and to store the two examples in different places.

5.4.4. RESTORATION PROCEDURE

1) Shut down and quit BB-CQCS.
2) Open Windows Explorer by clicking on <Start> then <Programs> and then <Explorer> (as in back-up
procedure).
3) With the mouse, highlight and double click on the drive containing the stored data support (back-up or
archive), shown here as the floppy disk drive.

4) Select the <Config> folder and drag it to the BB_CQCS folder.

5) You will see the following window :

Click on “All”
6) Wait until the following window disappears.

Repeat the above stages for the C:\SAVERUN folder (i.e. copy X:\SAVERUN to C:\SAVERUN, where X
represents the back-up drive letter).
Restoration is finished. BB-CQCS is now as it was when th back-up or archive was made.

6 HAZARDS, PRECAUTIONS AND LIMITATIONS OF USE

6.1. BB-CQCS SOFTWARE LICENCE

This document defines the terms and conditions under which the final user (hereinafter called “the
Customer”) may use the BB-CQCS sofware (hereinafter called “the Software”), property of JOUAN S.A.
(hereinafter called “JOUAN”). In acquiring a copy of the Software, the Customer expressly accepts the
terms of this Contract with JOUAN.

Clause 1 - Licence
The acquisition by the Customer of an example of the Software gives the Customer the non-exclusive, non-
transferable and limited right to use the Software on a single terminal, connected to a single computer to
the exclusion of all other rights. In particular, the payment of the price and the opening of the sealed
packaging give no right of ownership of the Software to the Customer but simply the right to its use
conforming to the terms and conditions of the present Contract.

Clause 2 - Ownership
JOUAN has sole title to the entire rights of authorship (according to the French law of 1st July 1992) of the
Software in addition to any and all copies which might be permitted within the limits of the present licence.
The Customer is informed that these rights of authorship represent a significant financial value. The
Customer is only authorised to make a copy of the Software when backing up or archiving files or to
transfer the Software to another single machine in order to backup or archive files. The loan, renting or
transfer of the Software to another user is expressly forbidden. All copying of the documents and manuals
accompanying the Software is forbidden. One licence number corresponds to one user, proprietor of the
documents and diskettes. The Customer is forbidden to make any modifications whatsoever to the
Software and/or to integrate the Software into any other computer product.

Clause 3 - Time Limit

The obligations arising from the acceptance of the conditions of the licence take effect from the moment of
opening the sealed package containing the diskettes. These obligations remain in effect for as long as the
Customer uses the Software. The right to use ceases automatically and fully in the case where the
Customer fails to comply with any obligations placed upon him by virtue of the present Contract.
The Customer is obliged, by a determining condition of the acceptance of this Contract, that in the case
where he ceases to use the Software, for whatever reason, including the loss of right to use the Software to
immediately destroy the diskettes and whatever Software supports are in his possession as well as all
copies which he might have created.

Clause 4 - Guarantee and Responsibilities

4-1 The customer has the sole responsibility for the choice of the computing material and its
configuration necessary for the use of the Software. JOUAN does not offer any guarantee of
suitability or power of the computing material necessary for the use of the Software
4-2 JOUAN guarantees that the Software responds substantially to the functions specified in the
description attached to the Software and current at the date of purchase of the Software and for the
environment for which it has been prepared.
Should the Software not fulfil its specified functions, JOUAN agrees, at its choice, either to replace or modify
the Software which JOUAN has recognised as defective or to reimburse the Customer the purchase price
to the exclusion of any other guarantee implied or expressed. The Customer must inform JOUAN of any
fault in the Software liable to be covered by the guarantee as soon as it is detected or at the latest within
48 hours of the detection of the fault. Failure to observe this time limit renders the guarantee null and void.

The above guarantee will not apply :

- In case of modification of the environment for which the Software was designed, without the
express written agreement of JOUAN.
- In case of use not conforming to the Software operating manual
Neither can JOUAN be held responsible for any abnormality or fault affecting the Software which has
been caused by alterations or modifications to the Software or by incorrect functioning of Customer
equipment or use of other applications not supplied by JOUAN.
4-3 This guarantee is valid for one year from the date of purchase of this particular example of the
Software.
4-4 JOUAN does not guarantee that the Software will operate without error or that it can be operated in
whatever other fashion other than as described in the documentation. JOUAN does not give any
guarantee as to the results that the Customer can obtain when using this Software or as to the
suitability of the Software in achieving a specific objective.
4-5 JOUAN will in no case be held responsible for whatever damage, direct or indirect which might
arise to the user or any third party and notably the loss of use of function.
4-6 With the constant technological evolution in computing and software, JOUAN may develop and sell
improved versions of Software including specific characteristics and functions similar to those of the
present Software. In no case may this guarantee be invoked to obtain more recent versions of the
Software or new Software.
