Contractor shall inspect and maintain all the drilling and work over rigs and all drillings equipments
according to the manufacturer maintenance manual and API standard.
All inspections and maintenances of all drilling rigs and equipments are at contractor’s expense.
All drilling and work over RIGS and equipments shall be inspected and certified by third party organism.
Any equipment failing inspection will be repaired and re-certified at contractor’s expense.
Before starting operations, the contractor shall submit all certificates of drilling equipments listed bellow:
• Certificate of intermediate Inspection shall be a valid date.
• Certificate of Major Inspection/Overhaul (re-certification), valid date.
All BOP equipment shall be inspected and certified by original manufacturer or certifying agency. Any
equipment failing inspection will be repaired and re-certified or replaced at Contractor’s expense with
original manufacturer equipment. All replacement equipment must be original equipment manufacturer and
subject to inspection by CLIENT.
New ring gaskets shall be installed on each nipple-up at each connection, which has been parted. Ring
gaskets should never be reused.
All pressures test of well control equipments (surface and down hole) shall be tested as described on Table
1 or 2 of API RP 53 Third Edition, March 1997 (as required by Client)

All equipments (except items 15-16-17), in addition to the above said, shall be inspected as follows:
Before the beginning of the contract the equipment will be submitted to the Acceptance test, at rig site
or at Contractor’s base, as described on Table 1 of API RP 53 Third Edition, March 1997, when the
equipment is going to be used by CLIENT for the first time.
After each well, the well control equipment should be cleaned, visually inspected and preventive
maintenance performed (according to Maintenance Plan) before installation on the next well.
The annual Inspection will be performed with the witness of a qualified and authorised Inspector
according to Maintenance Plan. The Inspector will check all the documentation relevant to the
equipment under inspection; verifying that the preventive maintenance has always been duly
performed, he will visual and dimensional inspect, with appropriate instrumentation, all the accessible
areas of the equipment, and will be present, to the Non Destructive Examinations (if requested by the
maintenance manual) and to the low and high pressure tests (as per Table 1 of RP 53 Third Edition,
March 1997). He will sign the related reports.
After five years, from the date of the first certification, the equipment will be disassembled at an
Manufacturer authorised workshop, visual and dimensional inspected in all the areas subject to wear.
All the sealing elements will be replaced; Non Destructive Examination will be performed, the low and
high pressure tests will be run; at the end, if all the test results will be positive, an authorised Inspector
will issue the relevant Certification.
All hoisting equipments shall be inspected and re-certificated according to the manufacture instruction and
API RP 8B last edition.
All drilling structure shall be inspected and re-certificated according to the manufacture instruction and API
RP 4G last editions.
