PALERME S'ENDORMAIT...
Palerme s'endormait; la mer Tyrrh�nienne
R�pandait une odeur d'�cre et marin b�tail:
Odeur d'algues, d'oursins, de sel et de corail,
Arome de la vague o� meurent les sir�nes;
Et cette odeur, nageant dans les ti�des embruns,
Avait tant de hardie et vaste violence,
Qu'elle semblait une �pre et p�n�trante offense
A la terre endormie et presque sans parfums...
