The McDonnell Douglas F-15C Eagle is the main fighter aircraft of the United States Air
•"' r In December 1969 the U.S. military decided that the F-4 Phantom II would be
itj. -o1 by the McDonnell Douglas F-15 as the next generation air superiority fighter

Although ' F-15 then produced had a body that was a size larger than the F-4 Phantom
II, the us^ alloyed material resulted in an unloaded weight that was lighter than the F-4
Phantom II. Thts aircraft is equipped with powerful engines and the latest electronic
instrumentation, and boasts outstanding flight performance and fighting ability. The F-15C
produced since Way 1980, in addition to having an improved weapons control device which
permits multiple target acquisition and tracking, has an increased internal fuel capacity,
solving oroblems A- t" this that had existed for the A and B types. Additionally, the design
permits a canoe shaped conformal tank to be mounted on the fuselage.

Die McDonnell Douglas F-15C Eagle ist daswichtigste Kampfflugzeug der United States Air
Force. Im Deze^ber 1969 entschfed das US-Militar, daB die F-4 Phantom II durch die
McDonnell Douglas F-15 als
Luftuberlegenheits-Kampfflugzeug der nachsten Generation ersetzt werden wurde. Obwohl
der Rumpf der danach produzierten F-15 groBer war als die F-4 Phantom II, resultierte die
Verwendung von Leg erungen in einem geringeren unbeladenen Gewicht als bei der F-4
Phantom II. Das Fl^zeug ist mit leistungsstarken Triebwerken und den neuesten ele-
ktronischen Instrumenten ausgerustet, es weist eine hen/orragende Flugleistung und
Kampfkraft auf. Die seit Mai 1980 produzierte F-15C verfugt, neben einer verbesserten
Waffenleitanlage. die das Erfassen und Verfolgen mehrerer Ziele gestattet, uber eine
grdfBere interne Kraftsro**Kapazitat, wodurch Probleme gelost wurden, die bei den Ver-
sionen A and B auftraten. Die Konstruktion erlaubt au8erdem das Anbringen eines Kanoe-
formigen Tanks an den Rumpf.

statunitense. Nel dicembre 19KJ. I esercrio ar^ ca<x> decise di sostituire il Phantom II F-4
con t'F-15 McDonnell Douglas come aereo da caccia di supenta poeumatica della nuova
generazione.
Sebbene l'F-15 prodotto aJleooca avessc una fusoliera grande quasi il doppio di quella del
Phantom II F-4,grazie all uso di material m tega il suo peso senza carico risulto piu leggero
di quello del Phantom II F-4.Ouesto aereo e dotato di potenti motor! e delle ultime
strumentazioni elettroniche e va~ta -^^tevo^i prestaz-oni di vo+o e capacita di com-
battimento. LF-15C prodotto dal maggto i960, ortre ad avere un Tieccanismo migliorato per
il controllo di razzi che consente la scoperta e I'inseguimento di bersagli multipli, ha una
capacita combustibile intema accresciuta, riscrfvendo cosi i problemi che si erano
presentati con i tipi A e B.
Inoltre, il suo design permette il montaggto suda fusoliera di un sert>atoio conforme a forma
di canoa.
