5. INSTRUCTIONS: Open a command prompt window on LTM (Local Terminal Monitor) or on IBIS. Type telnet 192.1.1.32 (TMR channel A) or 192.1.1.36 (TMR channel B) Login: tmr (1) Note the reference software of the current version for each channel. Type exit (2) Perform the same procedure with the address 192.1.1.80 (DPC channel 1) and 192.1.1.84 (DPC channel 2) and the login irp. (3-4) On the CBP TMR STAR, in the menu help/About CBP note the values of the version number and the Param Config version number. (5-6) On the CBP RSM970S CIRIUS, in the menu help/About CBP note the values of the version number and the Param Config version number. (7) On the IBIS, in the menu About / information, note the soft revision. (8) On the RCMS, in the menu help / about RCMS note the RCMS version

INSTRUCTIONS: Primary parameters recording: - With the CBP TMR STAR, in the menu command/Transfert from radar select current parameters and All parameters, save the parameter file (*.tmr) in a directory. - With the CBP TMR STAR, in the menu command/Transfert from radar select configuration parameters and All parameters save the configuration files (*.dfa,*.pca,*.dfw,*.pcw,*.thw,*.cdw) in the previous directory. (11-12) Note the name of this directory and the date on the CRE. - Perform this recording on the other channel with an other directory

- With the CBP RSM970S CIRIUS, in the menu command/Transfert from radar select current parameters save the parameter files (*.gbl,*.cmp,*.rps,*.cov) in a directory. (13-14) Note the name of this directory and the date on the CRE. - Perform this recording on the other channel with an other directory

3. PURPOSE:

Measure the VSWR and LOSSES due to RF cables and waveguide

4. RECOMMENDED TEST TOOLS: STANDARD TOOL: SWR/LOSSES METER WILTRON S331 or Equivalent 1 S band transition wave guide- coax

5. INSTRUCTIONS:

TEST TO BE PERFORMED ONLY DURING THE INSTALLATION PERIOD All VSWR measurement should be performed in rotation SWITCH OFF THE TRANSMITTER.
5.1 VSWR MEASUREMENT 5.1.1 Wave guide (aircraft low beam) Perform the following instructions Above the microwave assembly, separate the wave guide from the microwave assembly output, and fix a transition on the aerial wave guide Connect the TEST EQUIPMENT output on the waveguide transition Calibration Set the polarization on circular Switch on the SITE MASTER, program the start frequency to 2700 Mhz and the stop frequency to 2900 MHz. Connect the test cable to the PORT TEST of the SITE MASTER and perform CALIBRATION following instructions on the screen. Select the markers on F1 and F2 and choose the automatic scale. Measurement Connect the test cable to the waveguide transition. (15-16) Select the SWR mode and perform a continuous measurement for the two frequencies. Save the measurement and transfer it on a PC to be printed. (17-18) Repeat the measurements on linear polarization. 5.1.2 Coaxial cables (aircraft high beam and both weather beams ) The measurement should be performed on both circular and linear polarization On Microwave Assembly, disconnect the coaxial cable of the tested channel and connect the SITE MASTER to this cable. (19 to 30) Repeat the previous procedure for aircraft high beam and weather beams (options) Specification VSWR 1.5

5.2 LOSSES MEASUREMENT

Switch the transmitter and the antenna rotation off.


5.2.1 Wave guide (aircraft low beam) Calibration Switch on the SITE MASTER, program the start frequency to 2700 Mhz and the stop frequency to 2900 MHz Connect the test cable to the PORT TEST of the SITE MASTER and perform CALIBRATION following instructions on the screen. Select the markers on F1 and F2 and choose the automatic scale. Measurement Connect the test cable to the waveguide transition. Open the waveguide line above the rotating joint and close the waveguide by a flat metallic plate. (31-32) Select the CABLE LOSS mode and perform a continuous measurement for the two frequencies. Save the measurement and transfer it on a PC to be printed. Specification Aircraft LB for F1 and F2 (wave guide)

( 0.5dB + 0.016 dB /m ) + 10%

5.2.2 Coaxial cables (aircraft high beam and both weather beams) Measurement Connect the SITE MASTER to the tested channel cable Disconnect the antenna cables from the output of the rotating joint (upper part) corresponding to the channel and replace it by a SHORT transition. (33 to 38) Repeat the previous procedure for aircraft high beam and weather beams (option)

Check the power supply cabinet, safeties

4. RECOMMENDED TEST TOOLS:

5. INSTRUCTIONS:

Local power control: Put the AE2000 cabinet in Local mode Switch off the TMR-PC (both channel), IBIS, LTM and DPC-PC (both channel) to avoid any power supply failure due to the emergency stop Push the emergency stop and check the general switching off. (39) Release the emergency stop and check that the switching on is performed after pushing the ON switch. The radar station is available for operation after a 5 minutes delay max. The radar station is configured as before the shutdown of the station.

RCMS power control (remote): Switch off the TMR-PC (both channel), IBIS and DPC-PC (both channel) to avoid any power supply failure due to the emergency stop Put the AE2000 cabinet in Remote mode On RCMS, select ANCILLARIES box Select POWER DISTRIBUTION box Select Radar Control Switch off the AE2000 cabinet from the RCMS LTM or STM. Check that the radar switch off except the RCMS LTM, the WAGO, the RCMS modem (Optional) and the Local Display. (40) Switch on with the RCMS LTM or STM and check the return of the power on all radar equipment The radar station is available for operation after a 5 minutes delay max. The radar station is configured as before the shutdown of the station.

AERIAL CONTROL AND SAFETIES

3. PURPOSE:

Check the aerial safeties.

4. RECOMMENDED TEST TOOLS:

None

5. INSTRUCTIONS: 5.1 Antenna Speed rotation On the CBP RSM 970S CIRIUS of the master channel: Select the menu Main measurements/Antenna rotation period per scan (41) Note the display measurement.

5.2 Antenna Turntable (42) Check the siren is working before antenna rotation. (43-44) Check the antenna can be run by a dual motors or a single motor drive: Stop antenna rotation and restart successively with motor 1 and motor 2. (45) Check good operation of a motor overheat switch of each drive motor on antenna control cabinet. For AA2000-NGB To simulate a motor overheat, disconnect successively on antenna control cabinet the points TB 2.17 (motor 1) and TB 2.19 (motor 2). Each time, observe stop of motor. For AA2000-A (Automaton) To simulate a motor overheat, disconnect successively on antenna control cabinet the points TB 3.18 (motor 1) and TB 3.20 (motor 2). Each time, observe stop of motor. (46) Check brake to prevent the aerial from rotating during maintenance. After stop antenna rotation, activate the brake and observe that the start of antenna rotation is not possible. (47) When the emergency breaker of the antenna platform is pushed, check that the rotation is stopped. (48) Check rotation is prevented when antenna door access is open. For AA2000-A (Automaton), you must disconnect the safety key from the front panel to open the access door. (49) Verify there are no oil leaks.

3. PURPOSE: Check the presence of azimuth reference pulses (ARP) and azimuth clock pulses (ACP), and the voltage of encoder power supply.

4. RECOMMENDED TEST TOOLS: STANDARD TOOL: - Scope - Multimeter

5. INSTRUCTIONS: 5.1. Azimuth Reference Pulses and Azimuth Clock Pulses distribution. (50) Check the presence of ARP and ACP by inserting a flat cable on connector P35 located on rear TMR panel P35: ACP+: pin 1 ACP-: pin 2 ARP+: pin 3 ARP- : pin 4 ACP+: pin 7 ACP- : pin 8 ARP+: pin 9 ARP-: pin 10

Perform the same measurements for both channels.

5.2. ARP Alignment Connect the Oscilloscope on pin 3 and pin 9 of P35 connector of same TMR (A or B) (51) Check that time difference between both ARP is less than one ACP.

5.3. Power supply. (52) In the TOM cabinet, measure the voltage +5V and +15V on both encoder power supply.

3. PURPOSE:

Check nominal power.

4. RECOMMENDED TEST TOOLS: STANDARD TOOL: Peak power meter 8900C or Equivalent 5. INSTRUCTIONS: On the Microwave assembly, disconnect output of DC5 coupler (N plug) (DC5 is the 1st coupler after transmitter output). Connect the peak power meter to this output. Switch thumb wheel RC1 of GRA interface board (TFH 343) to 4 (F1 frequency) and switch on the transmission. (53) Measure the signal peak power (Pc). The transmitted peak power Pe = Pc + Att (Att = DC5 coupler attenuation + Attenuator 10dB) (54) Perform again the measurement with GRA interface board (TFH 343) RC1 thumb wheel GRA switched to 5 (F2 frequency). (55) Stop antenna rotation, check the safety chain led is on (front board TGE 233 (primary transmitter SST2000) and the transmission is off.

Peak power meter Repeat the test on Channel B 6. PUTTING IN NORMAL CONDITION: Put back the equipment in normal configuration. The interface board thumb wheel has to be switched to 0.

3. PURPOSE:

Check the result on the daily log report.

4. RECOMMENDED TEST TOOLS:

None

5. INSTRUCTIONS: The station must be operational. Note the reference UTC time on the LTM or STM. On the standby channel, disconnect the output J01 of the GRA front panel on the Digital Generation Unit. Wait until the failure raises and reconnect the plug J01 With the LTM or STM make a SST 2000S manual reset : Go to special control (right click) and send a failure reset Wait until the failure disappear and note the UTC time. . On the LTM or STM Select Report, Daily log ,Advanced Select all the report Select the reference UTC time for Time Start. Select the actual UTC Time for Time Stop. Select all the possibility

(282) Then send the result to the screen and check the presence of the alarms.

Check the control on the STM and on the LTM

5. INSTRUCTIONS:

(283) Check that the control is located ON the STM (284) From the LTM, ask the Control to the STM (285) On the STM, accept the Control and send the confirmation. (286) Check that the control is now on the LTM. (287) On the STM, ask for the return of the Control and check that is performed immediately with no acceptation from the LTM. (288) From the LTM, ask for the Control to the STM, give no answer from the STM and check that the Control return automatically to the LTM after about 2 minutes.

STAR 2000 P+S

2. TESTED FUNCTION:

System endurance test

3. PURPOSE: The purpose of the endurance test is to check the behaviour of the radar equipment over a continuous 72 hours period of operation and to check that eventual sub-unit failures do not cause an interruption in overall system operation.

4. RECOMMENDED TEST TOOLS:

None

5. INSTRUCTIONS:

Check that the air conditioning system and the U.P.S. are set to operational state. Check that the radar equipment is programmed in its normal operational configuration based on the parameters determined during the alignment phase. On RCMS positions (LTM and STM) : . Check the connection to the radar equipment, . Check (thanks to imagery) that all equipment items are in operational mode, . Delete all alert .

Test progress Record the date and UTC time at the start of the endurance test.

The 72 hours test is performed under monitoring and control of the RCMS system. (289) Test acceptance - The failures that may occur during the endurance test are classified according to their importance as follows: . Class 1 failures: Concerned equipment: not operational and not redundant items Radar Maintenance Display (IBIS) Air Dryer Data Regrouping Unit * *note: the DRU PC is not an operational equipment, but it is necessary to perform the endurance test. In case of failure, the test will be stopped during the necessary time to repair it. Such failures dont affect the operational state of the radar. The endurance test will not be interrupted for failure fixing.

Such failures dont affect the operational state of the radar. The endurance test will not be interrupted for failure fixing as long as one of the redundant equipment is working properly.
