This is a generic Printer Driver Installation Manual. It does not cover one specific printer, but it covers
printer drivers included on the Printer Drivers Installation CD as shown in section 1-1-3 on page 1-2.
In addition to this generic manual, some printer models have separate installation manuals.

Environmental Dangers
WARNING ALL DEVICES MEETING IEC60950 MUST BE KEPT OUTSIDE OF THE PATIENT
ENVIRONMENT, AS DEFINED IN IEC60601-1-1, UNLESS IT, ACCORDING TO
IEC60601-1-1, IS EQUIPPED WITH:
A) ADDITIONAL PROTECTIVE EARTH.
OR:
B) EXTRA ISOLATING TRANSFORMER.
Commercial devices such as laser cameras, printers, VCRs and external monitors, usually exceed
allowable leakage current limits and, when plugged into separate AC outlets, are in violation of patient
safety standards. Suitable electrical isolation of such external AC outlets, or providing the device with
extra protective earth, will be required in order to meet UL2601-1 and IEC60601-1 standards for
electrical leakage.

An area in which patients are normally cared for, the patient vicinity is the space with surfaces likely to
be contacted by the patient or attendant who can touch the patient. This encloses a space within the
room 1.83 m (6 ft.) beyond the perimeter of the bed (examination table, dental chair, treatment booth,
and the like) in its intended location, and extending vertically 2.29 m (7.5 ft.) above the floor.

Such an area is an environment in which medical diagnosis, monitoring or treatment is carried out. It is
very difficult to attach unique dimensions to the PATIENT ENVIROMENT.
In practice a distance of 2,5 m (8.2 ft.) above the floor on which the medical personnel stand and a
horizontal distance of 1,5 m (4.9 ft.) have justified themselves as indicative of the dimensions of the
Patient Environment.
The patient environment/vicinity will be depicted as a dashed line in this procedure. See example above.

• On some printer models, the hardware address (MAC address) is located on a label near the
network connector on the rear of the printer.

2-2-4-2 Printer Preparations

• Make sure the printer is connected on the same network as your Vivid 7, Vivid E9 and EchoPAC
PC Turnkey, either by using direct connect (crossed cable) or via a switch (or “the wall”).
See 2-2-1 "Preparation - printers connected via TCP/IP network" on page 2-2.
• Make sure the printer has power delivery and is turned on, ready for use.
NOTE: Some printers (i.e HP C2025c) require that you adjust the setup the first time you power up the
printer. Please refer to the vendors documentation, delivered with the printer, for detailed
information.

NOTE: Revision 4 of the Printer Driver software CD is the latest and covers the software versions
mentioned in the note on the top of the previous page.
1.) Make sure that the Vivid E9, Vivid 7 or EchoPAC PC is turned ON.
2.) Insert the CD called PRINTER DRIVER SOFTWARE CD with Part number GA200652, and restart
the unit (Vivid E9, Vivid 7 or EchoPAC PC).
3.) The Start Application dialog appears.

4.) Select the Install SW... button and the StartLoader dialog appears.

5.) Select OK to continue and the StartLoader dialog appears.

7.) Press OK to restart the system in order to continue the installation”.

6.) If this is a first time installation of the printer, you probably need to change the TCP/IP settings for
the printer.
7.) Select Change Settings.

8.) Enter the correct TCP/IP settings for the printer.
NOTE: If the printer is a replacement for a defect one, enter the IP-address corresponding with
recordings inTable 2-3 "Printer IP Address" on page 2-12 for software version v2.x.x or Table 2-
2 "Printer IP Address" on page 2-9 for software versions 3.x.x to v108.x.x.

9.) Verify correct TCP/IP settings, and select OK.

10.)Select “Install a driver from a printer installation disk or driver file,” and select NEXT>.

11.)Insert the Printer Drivers CD.
12.)This step is different, depending on the printer model.
- HP CP2025n: Select the Generic HP printer driver “HP Universal Printing PCL 6”, then select
“HP Universal Printing PCL 6.inf.
- Other HP printers: Locate the file “printerdriver.inf” file in the path: “<e:\Drivers\Printertype
Folder”, then select the correct “.inf” file and select OPEN.

13.)Select the Printer driver for the printer you are installing and select NEXT>.

14.)Enter the Printer Name.
15.)Place a check mark at the selection for USE THIS PRINTER AS THE DEFAULT PRINTER FOR
…, and select NEXT.

1.) Select CONFIG.
2.) Select CONNECTIVITY.
3.) Select SERVICES.
4.) Select MY COMPUTER” as Destination Device.
5.) Select Standard Print in the SERVICES list and select SELECT.

10.)Close this window.

11.)Close the STANDARD PRINT PROPERTIES - window by selecting OK.
12.)Leave the CONFIG menu by pressing F2.
13.)Test the printer as described in Section 2-2-4-9 on page 2-40.

10.)Close the Standard Print properties - window by selecting OK.
11.)Leave the Config menu by pressing F2.
12.)Test the printer as described in Section 2-2-4-9 "Check Printer Operation from Vivid 7, Vivid E9 and

3.) Start V7/EPC.

2-2-5 Resetting the Printer Network Settings
2-2-5-1 To reset the device's network settings (HP 6127)

Resetting Printer network settings may be necessary if the Printer is moved from one subnet to another
or if you cannot configure the printer using the HP Installation guide that is available during the Drive
CD installation. The Printer receives its IP addresses automatically and after this network re-set then
the IP address will most likely be changed too. If other Units are set to use this printer then their
corresponding Printer port IP addresses must be changed too.
2-2-5-2 To reset the device's network settings (other HP models)

1.) Press and hold (Configuration Page button), press (Resume button) three times, and release
(Configuration Page button). The Power light blinks for a few seconds. Wait until the Power light is
on.
2.) Press (Configuration Page button) to print the network configuration page and verify that the
network settings have been reset. By default, the network name (SSID) is “hpsetup” and the
communication mode is “ad hoc.”

2-3-1 Preparation
• MITSUBISHI color printer CP30DW:
- Set Switch 1 and 2 on the rear side of the printer to ON.
Please refer to the documentation for the printer if you need help to locate the switches.
• MITSUBISHI B/W printer P95DE:
- Install the printer in the scanner and ensure that the printer is switched ON.
2-3-2 Printer Driver installation - USB printers

Follow these steps to install the printer driver:
1.) Power up the Vivid E9.

2.) External USB printer: If not already done, connect the printer to one of the USB ports.
As soon the new USB device has been recognized by the software, the Welcome to the Found
New Hardware Wizard dialog, is displayed.

3.) Select: No, not this time, then select Next >.

4.) Insert the Printer Driver Software CD.

5.) Select: Install from a list or specific location (Advanced).
6.) Select: Next>.

7.) Select:
- Search for the best driver in these locations.
- Search removable media (floppy, CD-ROM ...)
8.) Select: Next>. The search for the printer driver installation file starts.

When found, the Hardware Installation warning (figure below) is displayed on the screen.

9.) Select Continue Anyway.

The installation of the printer driver software starts. As soon as the installation completes, the figure
below is displayed on the screen. The screen for P95D is illustrated on the left side and for the
CP300DW on the right side.

10.)Select Finish.

Follow these steps to select printer key (P1 or P2):
1.) Select Config/F2 to log on as ADM. (Default password: ulsadm).

2.) Select Connectivity > Additional Outputs.

3.) Select P1 or P2 from the Button pull-down menu (A).

4.) In Image frames (B), select:
- Secondary Capture
- Select Video Area from the pull-down menu.
5.) In Selected devices (C), highlight Printer, then select Advanced ...
Select the correct printer and adjust the setup as required by the site.
Select OK to apply the changes.
The printer’s name in Printer Setup (D) is changed to the selected printer

Verification
Perform these steps to verify that printer is configurated for use:
1.) Recall a 2D Color image..

2.) Select the appropriate print key, P1 or P2..
3.) Verify that the image is printed.
NOTE: Dispose properly of all old or used parts and media according to current policies and
procedures. Never keep old software or leave old software at the customer site.
