GROUP WORK

Names: Student 1 (leader) …..…………………… Student 2 (writer) ……………….….……

Student 3 ………………………………….

dangerously decreasing…

STEP 3
Explain the consequences of climate change in your daily life (food
search, migration...) and how your destiny and humans’ destiny are
linked.

Make yourself heard at the United Nations Assembly!

A.3.  What can it metaphorically apply to? Try to

B. An unexpected visit
The scene takes place in New-York City, at the headquarters of the United Nations, in an international
organization in charge maintaining peace and security and preventing conflicts and environmental
issues in the world. Delegates from all the countries are attending a UN assembly. Suddenly, an
intruder comes in: a dinosaur enters and goes to the front to address the assembly. He meets a security
guard who is scared so the dinosaur asks him if he needs a minute to take a breathe.

This scene looks anachronistic and unexpected.

d) what the speaker expresses (apologies ? blame ? regret ? suggestions? ideas?….)
The main topic of the speech is the possible extinction of the human species / the survival of the
human species. The dinosaur wants to create awareness about the current environmental crisis
situation due to climate warming/change. He is the right person to talk about this topic because
his species is now extinct.
He blames humanity for subsidizing fossil fuels uselessly instead of helping stop poverty. He
thinks that time has come to take advantage of the economies’ rebound to take strong necessary
action.éééééééééééééééééééééééééééééééééééééééééééééééééééééééééééééééééééééééééééééé
