After discussing students' IEP's and the different ways of helping and guiding students with
difficulties, Grace adjusted her teaching to include methods to facilitate the learning experience
for reading a text, writing words, math problems etc… When she sees a student struggling she
will take them aside for a one-on-one session.
During lessons and work time, Grace maintains a calm and friendly classroom atmosphere. The
students are encouraged to be respectful, to listen to others, and to raise their hand instead of
shouting out. When Grace wants their attention, she calmly waits for them to get settled in and
quiet before beginning to speak . She reminds students of appropriate behaviors and ensures
that the students follow the rules.

When there is testing or work to be completed in the classroom, Grace continuously walks
around to make sure that no one is struggling. If she sees someone having difficulty she gives
them extra support and ensures that the student has developed an understanding of the task at
hand.

St.Gabriel school is a small school of about 220 students. I am part of many of the school wide
activities. When I am needed outside of the classroom, Grace has taken over. During those
times Grace has been able to pick up and continue a lesson or transition into another lesson
very smoothly. She is a quick learner and has been able to pick up where I left off without any
hesitations. Grace seems very natural and comfortable in front of the students. She continues to
be a great support in class and school activities and does it with a smile.
