6 Assembly
6.1 Screw lock
All screwed connections must be secured against
potential impacts and vibrations during operation
of the machine. A suitable and field-tested screw
lock for all metal thread connections is, e.g., Loc-
tite 243.
Loctite 243 is a liquid screw lock (medium-hard)
and is applied to the parts to be mounted imme-
diately prior to assembly. For detailed informa-
tion on correct handling and processing, please
refer to the manufacturer's data sheets under
⮫ www.loctite.de. The manufacturer's homepage
also provides information on hardening accelera-
tors or other screw locks.
Assembly
Motor damage due to ingress of liquids!
Observe the degree of protection of the motor and the permissible installation position!
Make sure that no liquid can be present on the output shaft. Any fluid on the output shaft can enter the
motors and cause damage.
Use all motor mounting holes to mount the motor safely to the machine.
If coupling is direct, ensure that the support is plane and the orientation is precise.
Avoid pinching or jamming the centering collar on the motor side.
Avoid damaging the receptacle fit on the plant side.
Use the following screws and washers for flange assembly.

The screwed connections has to be able to take up both the force due to the weight of the motor and
the forces acting during operation. The necessary screw length for fastening the motor depends on the
machine construction.

− Do not remove or damage the seal glued in the cover of the terminal box.
− Note the size of the cable gland and connection thread for the cable inlet into the terminal box.
− Pay particular attention to the orderly and tension-free routing of the connection cables in the
terminal box in order to avoid chafing or pressure points on the cables.
− The connections of the internal motor windings in the terminal box must not be loosened.

11 Troubleshooting
11.1 Procedure
Possible causes for failures of motors can be
restricted to the following areas:
• Motor cooling and temperature behavior
• Internal temperature sensor
• Mechanical damage of the motor
• Mechanical connection to machine
