L’HISTOIRE DU VIRTUAL PC-7 TEAM
Le VIRTUAL PC-7 TEAM a été officiellement crée en 2012. Initialement crée
pour escorter le VIRTUAL SWISS HORNET lors de ses performances en live,
la première appartition du nouveau team fut lors de la démonstration live au
Musée Clin D’Ailes à Payerne. Lors de cette première apparance publique le
team à évolué avec quatre Pilatus Pc-7. En 2013, le team fonctionnait comme
une école de vol pour préparer et entrainer les futurs pilotes de la VIRTUAL
PATROUILLE SUISSE. Durant ces phases d’entrainement, plusieurs pilotes ont
désiré rester dans le VIRTUAL PC-7 TEAM et de ne pas effectuer la transition
sur F-5E Tiger II. La décision fut d’élargir l’existence du team à non seulement
plus une école de pilotage mais à une équipe de voltige indépendante.
L’équipe a commencé à recruter plus de pilots pour construire une formation
de neuf Pilatus Pc-7. Après trois mois de recrutement intensif, le team n’a pas
réussi à recruter assez de pilotes pour combler les postes manquant au sein
de la formation, la motivation de l’ensemble du groupe à été brisé. Le plan
initial d’accompagner le VIRTUAL SWISS HORNET pour le VFAT 2013 était en
danger. Avec le soutien de Yaroslav et Sawamura de la team VAT BERKUTS, le
team a comblé les postes manquant et les neuf appareils rouge et blanc sont
parvenu à effectuer leur premier Fly-By avec succès. 2013 fut une très longue
année de préparatif pour l’équipe, le team a effectué la transition de Flaming
Cliffs 2 à DCS:World ce qui a amené son lot de soucis. Au cours des premiers
mois de 2014, l’activité au sein de l’équipe était rare mais régulière car l’atten-
tion principale allait droit au recrutement de nouveaux pilotes pour le team.
En Août de la même année, la décision fut de changer le statut de l’équipe
et de la faire fonctionner à nouveau comme école de pilotage. Un mois plus
tard, le team est parvenu à recruter assez de pilots pour finalement compléter
la formation de neuf avions. Il aura fallu quatre semaine de travail intense et
d’heure de vol sans fin pour que l’équipe ait un niveau de vol respectable. A
la fin de ces quattre semaine le leader de l’équipe a décidé que leur première
démonstration serait le VUAF 2014 rapidement suivi du VFAT 2014. En Sep-
tembre de la même année, l’équipe a eu la chance de rencontrer les pilotes
de la Pc-7 Team durant le meeting Air14 à Payerne, Suisse. Ce moment a per-
mis au pilotes virtuels de parler avec leur homonyme réel et ainsi partager
un moment inoubliable pour toute l’équipe virtuelle. Après deux week-end
incroyable à Air14, la motivation du team était à son maximum et a permis au
VIRTUAL PC-7 TEAM d’effectuer une bonne démonstration lors du VUAF2014.
Deux mois plus tard, la team devait éffectuer deux démonstrations lors d’un
seul week-end. Le temps de préparation entre les démonstrations était court
et cette fin de saison était très intense pour toute l’équipe. Après une dé-
monstration convenable le vendredi soir pour le Virtual Malta Airshow 2014,
l’équipe devait effectuer leur dernière présentation deux jours plus tard pour
le VFAT 2015. Après cette dernière démonstrationr rempli de succès, la pre-
mière saison du team était terminé.
THE HISTORY OF THE VIRUTAL PC-7 TAM
Throughout the 2012 season, the VIRTUAL PC-7 TEAM was established. Initial-
ly it was formed to escort the VIRTUAL SWISS HORNET on live performances.
The first public appearance of the new founded team was during the live dis-
play Clin Dailes Museum in Payerne, Switzerland. On our first show, we flew
with 4 Pilatus Pc7. In 2013, the team functioned as a flight school to prepare
and train future pilots for their switch into the VIRTUAL PATROUILLE SUISSE.
During this process, team members asked to remain in the VIRTUAL PC-7
TEAM and to not do the switch to the F-5E Tiger II. The decision was made
to expand the teams existence to not only a flight school, but a full-fledged,
independent virtual air demo team. We started to recruit more pilots to build
up a formation of 9 Pilatus Pc-7. After 3 months of intense recruitment, we
team failed to fill up all positions and the teams motivation was shattered.
The plan to attend the Virtual Festival of Aerobatic Teams 2013 to escort the
F/A-18c was in disarray. With the support of Yaroslav and Sawamura from the
VAT BERKUTS, we successfully completed our first fly-by. 2013 was for us a
long season of long term preparations as we switched from the flight simu-
lator Flaming Cliffs 2 to DCS:World which brought us some hardships in the
process. During the first 4 months of 2014, our flight activities were rare but
regular as we had our main attention to regroup and recruit new pilots. In
August the same year, we decided to switch back the teams mission to a flight
school. Just one month later, we were able to recruit enough pilots to fill up
all positions of the iconic 9-ship formation. It took us about 4 weeks of hard
work and endless flight hours to setup the entire team to a respective level.
In conclusion, the flight leader then decided our first participation as an in-
dependent virtual air demonstration. He stated that we would take part on
the Virtual United Air Festival 2014 which was quickly followed by the Virtual
Festival of Aerobatic Teams 2014. In September the same year, we had the
chance to meet the real Pc-7 team pilots during the Air14 meeting in Payerne,
Switzerland. This brought us a chance to talk to the pilots in person and as
some our team members mentioned, it can only be described as insane. Mee-
ting the pilots of the team we are the virtual shadow of, the reflection of the
real demo in a professional flight simulator, we thank every single person who
made this moment for us possible. After two mesmerizing weekends on Air14,
our motivation has risen to fly a great performance just a few weeks later on
the Virtual United Air Festival 2014. 2 Months later, we were facing two virtual
airshow events on one weekend. Scheduling was tight and so was the time to
prepare as we performed at the Virtual Malta International Airshow 2014 on
Friday and at the Virtual Festival of Aerobatic Teams 2014 on Sunday, just two
days after. After two successful virtual airshows at the end of the year, our first
active show season was over.
