(6) Lors du baptême de Constantin V (741-775), l'impératrice Ma-
rie revient de Ste-Sophie au Grand Palais, en distribuant au peuple
des largesses : ôovaa vnareiav (Theoph., 615). Au cours d'une pro-
cession triomphale, l'impératrice Irène (797-802) jette des largesses
au peuple : girpaaa vnareiav (Theoph., 735). Devenu seul empereur,
Basile Ier (867-886), revenant d'une cérémonie à Ste-Sophie, distribue
des largesses au peuple : vnárevaev et sa femme, l'impératrice Eu-
docie imite son exemple : ünarevoaoa noXXà rfj noXirelq. xņr'ļiara
(Theoph. Cont., 256).
