Les préparations à base de cuivre ont été reconnues comme
« particulièrement préoccupants pour la santé publique ou
l’environnement » par la Commission Européenne ». L’EFSA (Autorité
européenne pour la sécurité alimentaire) et l’ECHA (Agence européenne
des produits chimiques) qui ont estimé que l’utilisation de ces substances
comportait « certains risques pour les agriculteurs, les oiseaux, les
mammifères et les organismes du sol ». ils sont « responsables des
résidus les plus communément retrouvés dans l’alimentation bio ». Selon
Didier Andrivon (Directeur de recherche INRA), « Il existe des centaines
d’études qui montrent que le cuivre affecte les communautés
microbiennes des sols et des composants de la microfaune comme les
collemboles » (5).
