polyglycrol, les PLUROL. Les groupes oxythylns
caractristiques des mulsionnants non ioniques
classiques sont ici substitus par un polyglycrol, qui
constitue la partie hydrophile de lmulsionnant.

Gattefoss has developed a line of polyglycerol

esters called PLUROL, substituting poly glycerol,
the hydrophilic portion of the emulsifier, for
the oxyethylene group which is characteristic of
traditional non-ionic emulsifiers.

FORMULATION
PLUROL STARIQUE permet principalement de
formuler des crmes. Il est possible de moduler
la viscosit selon le glifiant utilis et/ou lajout
dun agent de consistance, afin dobtenir des
crmes souples ou des laits pais. Les glifiants ou
associations de glifiants recommands sont :

PLUROL STEARIQUE is particularly suited for cream

emulsions. Depending on the choice of gelifying
agent and on the addition or exclusion of a
thickener, one can obtain from supple creams to rich
lotions. Recommended combinations include:

Gomme xanthane et amidon modifi, carbomer et

cellulose microcristalline

Xanthan gum and modified starch, carbomer and

microcrystalline carboxymethylcellulose

Lajout ventuel dalcool ctylique ou ctostarylique

permet de moduler la texture.

The texture of the formula can be modified by the

addition of cetyl or cetearyl alcohol.

Les mulsions obtenues sont onctueuses,

confortables et prsentes ltalement. Aprs
application, elles laissent sur la peau un lger film
au fini sec et poudr.

Emulsions obtained are voluptuous, comfortable

and present during spreading. They leave a thin film
on the skin for a dry and powdery after feel.

PLUROL STARIQUE sutilise de 4 6 %, associ un glifiant ou couple de glifiants adapts pour amliorer
la stabilit la chaleur : carbomer, gomme xanthane, cellulose microcristalline, amidon modifi
Grce au pouvoir mulsifiant du PLUROL STARIQUE, il nest pas ncessaire dajouter un comulsionnant.
PLUROL STARIQUE peut mulsionner jusqu 20-25 % de phase huileuse. Il est plus particulirement adapt
lmulsification dhuiles vgtales (jusqu 15 % dhuile vgtale) et desters dacides gras chane courte
et polarit moyenne.
Il permet galement la ralisation dmulsions phase huileuse compose dhuiles polaires (vgtales) et
non polaires (type huiles de silicone et huiles minrales).
Le procd dmulsification est traditionnel : 75 C, sous agitation rapide au moment de lmulsification ainsi
quaprs introduction des actifs. Le pH peut varier de 5,5 10, avec un optimum vers 6.

Recommended use level: 4 to 6%. PLUROL STEARIQUE can be used in association with the following
gelifying agents to improve heat stability: carbomer, xanthan gum, modified starch, and/or microcrystalline
cellulose
Thanks to the emulsifying properties of PLUROL STEARIQUE, it is not necessary to add a coemulsifier.
PLUROL STEARIQUE can emulsify an oil phase up to 20-25%. It is particularly well-suited for the emulsification
of vegetable oils (up to 15%) or short chain/medium polarity fatty acid esters.
It performs well also when emulsifying mixed oil phase containing polar oils (vegetable oils) and non polar oil
(such as silicon oils or mineral oils).
A traditional emulsification process can be used: 75C, rapid agitation not only to achieve emulsification but
also after introducing active ingredients. Optimum pH is 6, but stable between 5.5 and 10.
