ABSTRACT
In order to have a quality training, we were sent for an internship at the hospital and
university center of Yaounde located in the department of Mfoundi, arrondissement of
yaoundé IIIrd opposite the total Melen during the period from April 18 to 14 May 2022 in the
hematology unit, the objectives of which were to perform hemostasis tests (TP, TCK, TT),
perform hemoglobin electrophoresis, master and interpret a complete blood count, carry out
the techniques for studying irregular anti-erythrocyte antibodies, perform the determination of
blood and rhesus groups according to the Beth Vincent and Simonin method; we had to
discover the laboratory staff, perform Blood Formula Counts, blood groupings, Prothrombin
Rate, Kaolin Cephalin Time, blood smear, May Grunwald Giemsa staining, sedimentation
rate, reticulocyte rate, clean the laboratory but also take blood bags from donors as well as
other tests such as CRP, Widal and Felix, HBsAg, AcHCV by immunochromatography. We
also encountered difficulties such as the absence of hemoglobin electrophoresis, the non-
explanation of the reactions occurring during the tests and the non-interpretation of the smears
by the technicians; despite this we have achieved our objectives at 80%.
