* Present participle is used to describe two simultaneous actions done by two subjetcs.

The lesson being easy, the students understood well.
* As an adjective

Ex: Votre argument n’est pas très convaincant.- Your argument is not very convincing
Convainquant le juge, il a gagné le procès. – Convincing the juge, he won the case
En + le participe présent
(by/while/on…etc)
* Gerondif expresses simultaneous actions done by one subject or it can be a method of doing
something.
1. Exprimer le temps
eg: Il aime manger en regardant la télévision.
He likes to eat while watching tv.
2. Exprimer également
eg: L’enfant est tombé en sautant. (la cause)
The child fell by jumping

Voyager, c’est important.
Reading is interesnting.
Lire, c’est intéressant.
