Initiative, courage, ambition, a few words which
are however able to well describe the spirit that
since the foundation of the company, in 1967 in
Vestone (Brescia), has always characterised and
consequently driven Marvon’s way of thinking
about its role on the market and its business.

years of our national industrial history, enabling

and deep changes which have characterised the

the sustainability culture for Marvon
Marvon has always been strongly interested
in the environmental and social issues of the
territory that is hosting it and today, more than
ever, Marvon, Silmar Group and its owners
are all together committed to conducting
policies aimed at the economic, social and

indeed a common and largely shared opinion,

la culture de la durabilité chez Marvon
Marvon a toujours été très intéressée par les
enjeux environnementaux et sociaux de son
territoire et aujourd’hui plus que jamais, avec
l’ensemble du Silmar Group et ses propriétaires,
s’engage à mener des politiques visant la durabilité
économique, sociale et environnementale de
l’entreprise. C’est en fait une opinion pleinement
partagée que, à l’avenir, seules les entreprises qui
apprendront à fonctionner de manière durable

Quality: our way of doing business
Quality, one word that may have different
meanings, so the crucial question is: what is
quality? For someone it is a point of arrival, for
others it is only part of the technical specifications,
for Marvon it is a way of being, a way of doing
business and viewing its own role on the market.
For this reason, researching quality in its
processes has become for Marvon so important
that it invested, with great passion and
conviction, in training for all its collaborators and
improvement of all machineries, in order to satisfy
all those aspects of effectiveness and efficiency
which may permit Marvon to be competitive and
cutting-edge, but also trying to reduce as much
as possible its impact on the environment.
Even in this case, all the efforts of Marvon are
tangible and reported, for this reason today
the company is proud to have obtained three
certifications clearly attesting to the commitment
that the entire organisation, from the top
management to the youngest worker, is making.
Hence, after a sequence of deep and strict
analyses, conducted by leading certification
bodies, Marvon has obtained ISO 9001
certification for process quality, ISO 14001 for the
low impact on the environment, ISO 50001 for its
attention in using renewable energy sources.
However, all these elements are not only goals
achieved, but rather confirm the good work done
during these years and are a great motivation to
keep on going this way for the future.
La qualité : notre façon de faire
entreprise
Pour chacun d’entre nous, le mot qualité peut
avoir des significations différentes, pour certains
c’est un point d’arrivée, pour d’autres c’est une

ses propres processus, a pris une importance
capitale pour Marvon, ce qui l’a amenée à

aux impératifs d’efficacité et d’efficience qui

Firestop door handles
The fundamental aim of a safety handle for
fire doors is to guarantee that the door can be
opened during and following a fire.
At all times the rescue teams must be in a position
to open the doors that separate the areas at risk.
For this reason the handle is built with an inner
part in steel ensuring it will never deform.

même pendant ou après un incendie.

capables d’ouvrir les portes qui séparent les

Every 2 hours of production, aesthetic and
functional checks are carried out on the handles,
one every 5,000 kits is tested for traction and
bending, and every 6 months for resistance to
corrosion and operating resistance for 200,000
opening cycles.

Contrôle de qualité
Toutes les 2 heures de production, des contrôles
esthétiques et fonctionnels sont effectués sur les
poignées, tous les 5.000 kits sont testés pour
la traction et la flexion, tous les 6 mois pour la
résistance à la corrosion et au fonctionnement
pendant 200.000 cycles d’ouverture.

INTUMESCENT SEALS
Marvon intumescent seals have the fundamental
characteristic of expanding significantly in volume
when exposed to elevated temperatures.
They must combine good mechanical resistance
with their heat resistance performance, to
guarantee easy positioning on the frames
during normal temperatures of use and room
temperatures but, at the same time, remain
securely in place during the expansion phase
of the same, due to the effect of the heat and/
or the fire at high temperatures. In other words,
the seals must remain in place once they have
expanded in order to seal off the surrounding
rooms, withstanding the mechanical stress
resulting from the fire.
At a temperature of 450°C with flames,
Marvon’s Tecnoflame seal produces a stable,
slightly elastic and porous foam. Expansion
pressure and the onset of foaming commence
at a temperature of approximately 180°C, but at
higher temperatures, it starts hardening again,
resulting in a substantially harder material than
the original foam.

Les joints intumescents Marvon possèdent
la caractéristique fondamentale d’augmenter
considérablement leur volume initial lorsqu’ils
sont exposés à des températures élevées.
Ils doivent offrir une résistance à la chaleur ainsi
qu’une bonne résistance mécanique. Ils doivent
donc simplifier l’installation à des températures
ambiance, mais, en même temps, rester bien
en place durant la phase d’expansion, en
raison de l’effet de la chaleur et/ou du feu à des
températures élevées. En d’autres termes, à la
suite de l’expansion le joint doit être toujours en
mesure d’isoler les pièces tout en absorbant
les contraintes mécaniques auxquelles ils sont
soumis par le feu.
À 450°C, avec le feu en charge, le produit
Tecnoflame forme une mousse stable,
légèrement élastique et poreuse. La pression
d’expansion et le début de la formation de
mousse commence à une température d’environ
180°C, mais au-dessus de cette température,
il devient beaucoup plus dur que le matériau
d’origine.

Recommendations for the application
of the seal
The ideal application temperature lies between
+18°C and +25°C and the formation of
condensation and humidity should be avoided.
The surface where the seal is to applied should
be perfectly clean and dry, and free from dust,
grease or oils of any type. To clean the surface
we recommend using clean cloths, solvents
such as petrol, white spirits or ketones.
The contact pressure (about 10-15 N/cm) should
be applied manually with a roller or a surface
press. The adhesion strength is greatest after
approximately 24 hours. Unions should be made
in such a way as to avoid the development of lever
effects. Plastics contained in some materials can
determine alteration in the adhesive layer thus
compromising the resistance. We recommend
storing the seals at room temperature in normal
humidity conditions (50-70%).

Recommandations pour une correcte
application et stockage des joints
intumescents
La température idéale se situe entre +18°C
et +25°C et la formation de condensation et
l’humidité doivent être évitées. La surface où
le joint est à appliquer devrait être parfaitement
propre et sèche et exempte de poussière,
de graisse ou d’huile de n’importe quel type.
Pour nettoyer la surface, nous recommandons
d’utiliser un chiffon propre, de solvants tels que
l’essence, les alcools blancs ou les cétones.
La pression de contact (marouflage) (environ
10-15 N/cm) devrait être appliquée manuellement
à l’aide d’un rouleau ou d’une presse pour
surfaces. L’adhérence sera plus forte après
un délai d’environ 24 heures. Les adhésions
devraient être réalisées de manière à éviter le
développement des effets de levier. Les matières
plastiques contenues dans certains matériaux
peuvent déterminer l’altération de la couche
d’adhésif en compromettant ainsi la résistance.
Nous recommandons de stocker les joints à
température ambiance, dans des conditions
normales d’humidité (50-70%).
