ABSTRACT
The article deals with the instrumentation of purchases using the hidden cost-per-
formance method. The issue can be expressed in the form of the following question:
how does the hidden cost-performance method apply to purchases and what are its
contributions? The study is based on a 24-month intervention-research carried out in
the insurance sector with a reflective practitioner positioning. The results show that
the hidden cost-performance method applies to purchases by providing buyers with
the means to categorize dysfunctions and integrate them into the purchase cost. The
taking into account of dysfunctions by the buyer will reinforce the trust/legitimacy of
the purchasing function in the eyes of internal customers.

Introduction
Depuis de nombreuses années, les auteurs s’intéressent au coût d’achat
des biens et services. Ainsi, il y a près d’un siècle, Harriman (1928)
invitait le « Purchasing Officer » à tenir compte des réparations ou du
stockage dans le calcul du coût des biens. Plus récemment, Ellram, avec

Conclusion
L’objectif de cet article était d’étudier l’instrumentation des achats par
la méthode des coûts-performances cachés, pour prendre en compte
les dysfonctionnements et identifier les apports d’une telle méthode
dans un contexte d’achats. La problématique s’exprime sous la forme
de la question suivante : comment la méthode des coûts-performances
cachés s’applique-t-elle aux achats et quels en sont les apports ? Pour
cela, nous avons mobilisé un cadre théorique axé sur le Purchasing
Performance Management System (PPMS) et sur la Théorie Socio-
Économique des Organisations. Sur le plan empirique, nous avons
mené une recherche-intervention de 24 mois au sein d’une compagnie
