Laplace :
• asymétrie d'information (qu'elle soit volontaire ou non) ;
• aléa moral (non-respect de l'ensemble des règles et accords passés) ;
de moins bonne qualité, et l'agent à adopter un comportement dit de passager clandestin) ;
• notamment ceux liés à la surveillance de l'agent (par exemple, un conseil d'administration) ;
• les coûts d'obligations supportés par l'agent ;

Structured Finance = off-balance = sheet finance = titrisation
Working definition :
Techniques employed whenever the requirements of the originator or owner of an asset, be they concerned with funding, liquidi ty, risk transfer, or other need, cannot
be met by an existing, off-the-shelf product or intsrument.
Hence, to meet this requirement, existing products and techniques must be engineered into a tailor -made product or procen. Thus, structered finance is flexible
financial engeneering tool.
Characteristics of a SF transaction :
- Complex financial transaction that may involve actual or synthetic transfer of assets or risk expense, aimed at achieving certain accounting, regulatory, and/or tax
objectives;
- A transaction ring-fenced in it own special purpose vehicle.(New entity created for instant operations)
- A bond issue that is a asset-backed and/or external reference index-linked. ( ex: Ocp is the best)
- A combination of interest-rate and credit derivatives.
- A transaction employed by banks, other financial institution , and corporation as a source of funding and/or favorable capital, tax and accounting treatment.
- Disintermediation between banks and other corporate entities.

Securitization( titrisation):
▪ Obligation of the issuer to repay lenders is backed by the value of financial asset( credit support provided by a third partyto the transaction.
▪ Value of financial asset= loan, account receivable, note receivable.
▪ Loan/receivable=financial asset to lender but liability to borrower.
▪ Use pool of loan/receivable as collateral are refunded to as securitizied assets.
▪ Value of the financial assets +third party credit support may be needed to obtain a defined credit rating.
▪ A corporation issuer a secured debt instrument whose credit standing is supported by a link on specific assets ( mortgage bond or collateral trust bond) or by a
third party guarentee.
▪ With traditional secured-bonds, it is the ability of the issuer to generate sufficient earnings to repay the debt obligation that is necessary .
▪ Manufacturer of form equipment issuer a mortgage bond in which the bond holder have a first mortgage lien on of it's plants.
▪ Bond holder rely primarly on the ability of the manufacturer to generate a cash-flow from all of it's operations.
▪ In securitization, the source of repayment shiftsfrom the cash-flow of the issuer to the cash-flow of the pool of financial assets and/or a third party that guarentees
the payments ( pool does not generate sufficient cash-flow)
▪ If the manufacturer of farm equipment has receivables from installement sales contracts to customers( a financial asset for the farm equipement company)
Receivables: créance
Mortgage : hypothèque
Farm equipment corporation = make a loan
Tranching : 1 tranche 1 security
Senior subordement structure
Securitization : have the same value as the assets as the fair value
Equivalent of fair value: ex 200k of vehicle origine price, the other will give me 100k, NO.
Prepayment:
Prepayment: paymement in excess of the required minimum / commonly applied as a reduction of principal
Curtailemnt :
The calculations :
▪ Single Monthly Mortality : prepayment rate expressed as monthly rate ;
SMM= prepayment of period n/( beguining balance of period n- scheduled principal payment of period n) je fais*12 si j le mme montant tote l'année; sinon je
fais la somme or SMM= 1-(1-CPR)^1/12,
○ Conditional prepayment rate = prepayment rate expressed as an annual rate for long term asset
CPR= 1-(1-SMM)^12 equivalent des taux
○ Public Securities Association : series of monthly prepayment rates for a 30-yearmortgage,
CPR= 6%*t/30 for month t. it's a monthly series of CPRs
○ Absolute prepayment Speed : for shorter term assets( like auto loans) , larger amounts of principal are paid faster= increasing prepaymentrate as the p ool
seasons.
ABS= 100*SMM(100+SMM*(n-1))
A 5% CPR means that 5% of the pool's oustanding loan balance pool is likely to prepay over the next year.
Future value=present value(1+i)^n
Prepayment curves based on historical prepayment.
Vintage analysis ( coheart analytist idk the word) static analysis
- Assets required payement projections are same as assets used by pp curves.
Excess spread : original rate is 8% security sold at 5%, servicing fees 1%. So the excess spread is 2%=8-5-1
Yield = ROI
The ones who tend to pay the fastest are the ones whith better credits whith higher interest rates, it reduces the excess spread
Static analysis:Track the performance of the asset from its origination to maturity without the influence of other loan from different origination
▪ What does the term terminal value refer to ? The value of an asset or business at the end of the model period
▪ I will create a set of hypothetical outcomes that include the possible range of outcomes is the Monte CARLO ANALYSIS.
▪ Ignoring risk, a higher level of debt will lead to the highest IRR
▪ Waterfall Analysis enables a user to test assumptions to see how they impact outcomes.
▪ The value of variable at the end of one year is related to the value in the next year.
▪ Advanced modeling technique: toggles; corkscrews; waterfalls.
The loan customers:
Delinquency to Recovery:
Loss expectations can change depending on the time it takes to classify an obligor as a default
The comparison between delinquancy & balance is only within the vintage under analysis.
The comparison between delinquancy & balance is only within the vintage under analysis.
Severity = final cumulative loss percent per vintage- % original balance of a particular vintage , assumed to be defaulted and uncollectible.
It is the highest level of damage possible when an accident occurs from a particular hazard .
Timing= % loss taken by certain point in time, ending at the final maturity of the assets.
Timing of loss for period = cumulative loss % in period/final cumulative loss %( maturity)

Liabilities
On doit tt appliquer sur l'amo ( the model)
Day factor rate= (today - last day)/ 360
Pp= pr*bb*notional
Début de la balance -partie du capital
-Diff entre 0.9955 and 0.9913 is 439.06/100000
Amo factor of t = ep of t / bb
notional amortization = amort factor de t / amort factor of t-1
Often, the interest rate is floating based of the index, speaking of the asset sides
He borrows money with index, and gives ou the index+ margin
Opération de min
Opération de max
Banquier daye3
Never ever the interest rate would exceed the original rate
allocation debt
Liabilites
Fees +interest+principal
In a fixed rate we don't need

Higher interest rate for subordinated is the
It become more coplicated when it's more then 2 , since the first one takes everything, what is keft is for the subordinate for the nexte level
Credit default swap
j'ai un taux annuel que je dois le transformer en périodique, c pk on a multiplié les 0.015 points par 91/360 because we had a 91 days in a quarter
Triggers:
Cash flow triggers, deal-type triggers,
Cash-flow =Amo reel +interest reel +recovery + prepayment
